I just got my OEM bed extender in, do I have to install those brackets that come with it or do I use those "bracket things" that are already installed, on the bed wall, by the end gate?

I have no idea what your talking about but the bed extender uses two brackets, 1 on each side on the bed nearest the tailgate

There's some brackets already installed where you say, are these factory installed for the bed extender? as the bed extender came with brackets and a template where I have to drill into the bed wall to install then, which I'm not to keen to do.

Did you purchase your truck new or used? If it's used, then the previous owner may have had a bed extender and already installed the brackets for you.

I bought it used, the brackets that are already there look factory and don't match the brackets that came with the extender. ? .

If the brackets look factory and you have a factory bed extender, then you should be good to go. Have you tried putting the bed extender in the brackets? Also, pics would be helpful. The brackets i used are not OEM but it works fine with my OEM bed extender. My brackets have a lever that releases the bed extender but i've seen brackets without the lever too.
