I was going to order the OEM bed mat and I’m wondering if it covers the drain holes or makes the bed not dry out as well. I’m in Florida so it gets rained on a lot and the roll-up tonneau I have doesn’t keep water out as much as I’d like.

There is plenty of drainage, it has nubs on the bottom and sits entirely on top of the ridges on the bed itself.

I am in coastal Mississippi. It rains about 100 inches a week here. No problems with drainage in my bed which has OEM bed mat.

I am a pool guy and water is constantly in the bed of the truck. I have a bed mat and it drains just fine.

Yeah, but when your truck is underwater, does the bed mat sink with the truck or float to the surface?

I'm fairly certain Toyota Would have designed this for your truck to sink and the bed mat to float. Wouldn't you think!:rofl::rofl:

That's what you would think, but if you have a leaky third brake light, your cabin will fill up with water in no time:thumbsup:

I think the bed mat weighs enough to sink the whole truck!:D

Water gets underneath the mat in the ribs just fine. I drilled 3 more holes in the front for better drainage. One hole I lined up with a hole I drilled in the mat. I put a stainless steel bolt and washer through the mat and bed then a wing nut from under the truck. This help it from blowing out in a car wash or just “walking” away.

This will also help the truck’s buoyancy in a flood, as it will be tethered to the floating bed mat.
