Felt under my 2003 regular cab driver side bench seat and felt a bunch of thin metal rods that had broken. Am looking to replace it with another bench. It’s not as comfortable anymore. Can anyone guess me a replacement cost, perhaps from a wrecking yard? Did anyone here find a used one at a reasonable price? What span of years are we talking about that would fit? Can you buy just the seat part? My sore butt would appreciate any help. :)

60/40 or true bench? You should be able to find them for <$100 - either CL for people who swap to buckets or at a yard. I just threw my 60 part away or else I would've given it to you. Pretty sure all first gen years work.

My first Tacoma was a regular cab with a bench seat, and it was pretty uncomfortable after 200k+ miles. You might be better served looking for an auto upholstery shop to repair the bench and put some new foam in it. Any junkyard bench it likely to be just as worn as the one you'd be replacing.

It’s a 60/40 bench seat (Lunar Mist). Called a few salvage yards. No luck. You’d think of all the crashed mini trucks, the seats wouldn’t be damaged and that there’d be plenty. Oh well. CL was a no go. Will maybe put in a “wanted” post there. Upholstery shop would likely cost a lot and there are snapped metal support rods.
