Thanks. The emblem overlays have already been installed. I assume if I don’t like the look in person I will have to deal with getting the 3m tape backing off somehow. Hopefully they look as good in person as they do via pictures on here

Can anyone verify if the overlay touches paint after install or is it slightly raised off. I’m worried they will leave scratches along outline if I decide to remove.

I put mine on over my V6 in the back and took it off a few weeks later with no issues. I ended up taking both off at the same time, just to clarify.

Were they easy to remove? Just pull basically? or did you add any solvent to it in back to get the tape to release?

Id assume the make the badge look bulkier/clunkier.
How thick is the material and on a scale from 1-10 how much bulk do they add (1 the lowest) ?

I should be able to chime in about this today. I am supposed to pick up my new 2019 today and was delivered from another dealer who had already had these installed. If I don't like them I will be pulling them off along with the black tailgate inserts. May be up for sale soon (of course once you remove them I assume it ruins the adhesive so probably can't reuse them). lol In theory they sound great but need to see them in person before I decide if I want to leave them on the truck or not.

The plastic is pretty thin, if there is any bulk to it then it is not noticeable.

I sprayed the emblems with Plasti-dip first to see if l liked the look before spending the cash on the overlays. It was easy enough to clean off before installing the overlays.

Plasti-Dip takes 10 minutes and a $5 can is all you need!

Lots of talk of plasti dip on this forum. I'm not familiar with the product.
    Is it reversible?

I have a question maybe someone will be able to answer it. I was considering buying the overlays until I was told about plasti dip. If you ever want to take the overlays, the plastic is too thin that it may brake and then the hassle of taking the glue/3M off the chrome lettering. With the plasti dip, it seems like you can remove it easy if you need too down the road, plus it will protect the oem emblem as well (so they say.) Can someone chime in on plasti dip, pros and cons??

Yes plasti dip peels right off. Put 5-6 coats and it stick, even through pressure washer. At $5 a can just try it out

No harm to the paint? What’s the process to remove the over spray from the paint?

    No damage to the paint.

If the overspray is little specks then rubbing with your thumb is enough to remove them. But if you tape around the emblems and spray your coats, when you start to peel it will all come off around the emblem. There are plenty of videos online to reference this
