    Hi,

Long time Tacoma driver, first time poster. :)

    I have a 2004 Toyota Tacoma Prerunner 4-door crew-cab 2.7L 4-cylinder pickup. Approx. 110k miles.

Need to change out the front disk brake pads. Want to go OEM if for no other reason I don't want any surprises if that makes any sense... :)

In doing my research, I see that there are two possible that may fit. One source says 04465-04040, the other 04465-04050.

Anyone know which one is "right" for my particular truck or what's the difference between the two?

BTW, I don't intend on pulling the calipers off to do the pad slap (I understand it is possible to slap in new pads without removing the calipers - TRUE?).

Also, I was thinking about replacing the the pins, clips, pad support plates and inner/outer anti seize shims while I was in there. I see it as cheap insurance. Do you think this is overkill?

    Thanks in advance.

    Cheers,
    Paul
