OEM cd/cassette radio or similar

Hello all,

First post here, great site.

I searched an old thread on this very subject, but wasn't sure if I should bump it or start a new one.

I recently bought my 1st Gen. and the previous owner replaced the stock radio with a pioneer, which i don't like. Being older, I like the simpler things when it comes to electronics. I've looked for just a simple cd player/radio but can't seem to find one. I've seen OEM ones on eBay, but they are expensive, so I thought I'd ask here if anybody has an OEM one they would sell or knows of a basic one that would work.

I have the SR5 with TRD Offroad package and the original sticker says it came with DLX AM/FM/CASS/CD W/6 speakers, if that helps. Thanks for any info.

Yeah eBay has gone off the hook with pricing, often more expensive than a local shop, the days of the online flea market are long gone. The CD player went south, I replaced it with an OEM from eBay, all I can say is it was worth it but then I have a strangely strict habit of keeping everything stock. If you go that route look for the little clues, heavy dust, scratches where they shouldn't be, original knob/bezel printing completely worn off. I think I paid $125 for mine, it's been working fine, been over a year.

 

I have the oem single DIN stereo out of a 99. Toyota part no. 86120-04090 in really great condition. You can have it for the price of shipping if it would work for you

I checked the BST forum for the first few page, but did't see anything. Hopefully Tour991 will chime in if he has one.

Good tips on what to look for, I prefer stock items usually too.

It's funny not one of my parts trucks had a OEM radio.

I have one the tape deck was acting up when I replaced it but the cd player works. You can have it pay for shipping and a beer.
