So my google-foo and search ability may be weak but I haven't been able to find any pictures of the oem color matched door edge guards installed. The previous owner of my truck beat the crap out of the driver side door edge. Even though I have done some touch up work and you couldn't notice unless I pointed it out, it still annoys me. If any of you have them could you please post a pic so I can see how they look?

That's where I was looking to order from. Just wanted to see a picture of them actually installed and not a generic part
pic. Maybe I will have to be the first.

Im looking into these http://trdparts4u.toyotaofdallas.com/Scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=-10158 .

Im not going to get the generic ones from AutoZone or Pepboys. The last time I used one of theirs, it left a sticky residue that was difficult to take off. Until I used Goof Off. Then it came of a little easier. So from I learned, don't use adhesive door edge protectors.

OP there should be someone in your area that sells this stuff to the local car dealers. They sell this in 25 foot rolls (most any color) and you can install it yourself and have some left over in case you damage it or need to change it out. If you can not find anyone send me a PM.

Hey @TomTwo do u think the seller/supplier is using some sort of plastic with adhesive or do u think its just a simple application?

    You are welcome Bravisimo,

    No adhesive needed.

Was a litte tight (which is good) so I just tapped it in place with a small rubber hammer.

    Good luck!

It is a HD plastic of some kind with adhesive inside.

Ah ok. Well i opted in for the the ones that @bnv mentioned. I spoke with john and the price offered on the site comes with four door edge protectors that are color matched. enter the word "cyber" in the cart page and get an additional $4 bucks off. Shipping is $17 through fedex but i don't mind.

Don't these tend to trap moisture and dirt causing rust? Similar to the edging some vehicles have on the fenders. My parents CRV had them and rusted pretty badly.

I know I am digging up an old thread, but I am considering getting the Toyota Edge Guards for my truck.
The installation instructions worried me because of having to remove sealant on the seal of the door and then having to pain. Also, possibly requiring a sealant adjustment tool(http://trdparts4u.toyotaofdallas.com/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=-10378)

For anyone who has gotten these:
Did you have to remove sealant? and if so, did it expose bare steel requiring painting?
    Also, is the tool necessary?

I just found some Pyrite Mica ones on Eabay for my Double Cab for 35.00 shipped and they went on perfectly and look nice.
