Do you have the clear plastic film, or the ones like I’m referring to, but clear?

Clear film, non body color. They were on the truck along with the door handle guards when I bought it new.

Gotcha. Yeah, I’ve had those on cars before and after a while there would be dirt built up along the edges of them. Even cars I kept extremely clean. No telling how mad it would be on my truck after a while. Lol

I hate them paint protectors myself. I had a white 2020 DCSB OR that came with the paint protector package. It wasn't even a year before dirt was around the edges and wouldn't come clean. Grime also got under them. They were yellowed and stain also. No matter how hard I tried the clean they wouldn't come keep. They looked like total crap for a new truck and I take very good care of all my vehicles. When I got my 2021 DCLB OR I told them not to put that crap on my truck.

You’re referring to the clear film, right? If so, that’s the type I’m avoiding.

Thanks for the picture! No issues with them or dirt buildup?

Not the clear. Mine came from the factory with the paint matched guards. If you look at any truck with any of those paint guards it doesn't take long for them to start looking gross. I guess maybe I'm just ocd. I mean if you garage and don't drive your truck much they might be ok but if you daily it I wouldn't recommend them honestly. I'm careful with my truck so I really didn't feel the need for them on my 2021.

Here is where you need to make sure you install it well (red below on body line). Before I took mine off the passenger side had a visible gap along that line/angle as the section there isn't backed around the door edge along the whole section. You don't get a good fit there you'll probably end up with dirt/scratches. Honestly I don't think they're worth it, but again not the most useless thing to add to a Tacoma. I can see their value if in always tight parking situations. If I had the choice and the tight parking was at home I'd rather put up pool noodles on the garage/fence.

The color-matched protectors came on my truck… I disliked them and removed them immediately. It’s a large noticeable bulge along the edge of the door.

Adding these things so you won’t damage your doors when you slam them into other cars just seems like an expensive way to buy your way out of the shame of being a serial door dinger. Just be careful with your doors, for Pete’s sake

Actually, you mentioned something I forgot. I also noticed a bit of a paint line when I took mine off. Nothing major and it's not noticable unless my nose is pressed to the door edge. But maybe they seemed to compress the soft/new paint? Not sure. But still glad I took them off

Mine are silver. Haven’t even noticed them. I was worried it would get chewed up driving through some brush. Nope! Still looks fine. Only had the truck 6months and I wash it weekly. Oh… and it’s Silver Sky Metallic which hides everything.

People worried about the dirt behind them must not have the OEM ones or they aren't on right. They fit like a glove. The clear ones that are aftermarket are crap and get dirt behind them and get discolored after a short period of time. I have the OEM ones on my black truck and they are awesome. They are very small and don't really stick out much at all. I will say that they are not the easiest to put on mainly because you get only one chance to put them on. If you mess one up you have to buy another kit which I did. If they pop off during installation especially in the beginning, they wont stay in place. I did try to fix it but just ended up mangling it. You also have to make absolutely sure the bodylines line up. Furthermore, you have to lightly tap them on with an appropriately sized soft mallet. Too big or if you tap too hard the guard just "bounces" off. I actually had the exact mallet (it's like a 4oz - 2 sided rubber/urethane head mallet) they show in their instructions but didn't use it at first and that's how I messed up the first one. Follow the instructions exactly and you'll be OK.

What are the correct oem part numbers for 2023 double cab. SR5 Barcelona Red.
I see two prices and two numbers. I’m assuming that 2 front and 2 back ?

I didn’t realize this was a thing for Tacomas. I like your advice and will try to park away from vehicles with door edge protectors from now on, sure sign of a door dinger like the OP!

I see one part number on the site I use to find part numbers. These are for a 2022 but I'm sure they are the same. I put these on my 2019 and I messed up one of my doors and had to buy another set. Follow the instructions precisely and use a hammer similar, if not the same as they show in the instructions. These things are a one shot deal.

You wish on it weekly? :) (Sorry couldn’t resist) I have the OEM ones that came with my Silver OR. No issues after 2 years.
