Anyone know the part number for the gasket for the 8" E-locking rear diff?

I found 42181-60050 referenced in another post, but Toyota only lists its compatibility for 1st gens. The other 2nd Gen gasket I can find is 42181-60130 but another site tells me it's not for e-lockers.

Use the right stuff and you won’t have a leak.

Thanks for the tips. That thread is the one which mentions the part number that's only listed for 1st gens (42181-60050). May have to ring up a dealer and see what they say. I used the right stuff and have a tiny leak unfortunately. User error. Luckily only a few drops a day. Tried sealing it on the outside but it won't adhere with the oil leak going on. Going to redo the process at the 500 mile mark (just regeared), unless anyone has another suggestion.

    I’m not 100% sure.
But I don’t think the actual differential housing is any different between the 1st and 2nd Gen. They both used the same 8” gear. The only difference might be the alpines and pinion yoke. I believe the the gaskets are the same?

clean leaking area real good with brake clean then apply more globs of the right stuff. I did that and it stopped my leak for a good 2+ years until I needed to remove the diff for a rear bearing replacement.

Nice, I'll give it one final effort with a more liberal use of brake cleaner to start.

Dealer said 42181-60130 works for e-lockers.

42181-60050 - its the same for FJ cruiser, 4Runner and Tacoma. I just did my rear end and its exact the same as the old one.

Went ahead and ordered both gaskets. Same bolt pattern so I assume either will work. 50 is orange colored, 30 dark red. The one I scrapped off was dark red. Will be installing tomorrow as my patch job unfortunately didn't work.
