Oem led bed lighting kit 2020

    little bit of here and a little bit of that...
    I purchased Oem led bed lighting kit for my Tacoma 2020, and seems like it will not fit? It has factory cut outs with inserts on the bed driver and passenger side(photo below) and it does not match up? Pretty sure the Oem led belongs here, or am I wrong? The screw placement will not even screw on the bed because of the cut out shape. Also when i took my tail lights off, I checked for wiring and it has these plugs that is not plugged into anything and I’m assuming it’s for the Oem led bed lighting, but the plugs does not match or connect to the lighting harness I purchased. If it’s not for the bed lighting then what is it for? (Photo below) I apologized in advance I am new to this.

    Not sure if there are different Oem bed lighting kit made for cut outs that came on The vehicle like this? If I’m wrong about all this, what’s the cut out for? & what’s the wire harness on the vehicle that isn’t being used for? Thank you in advance!

    After posting this thread, I have received an answer saying these won’t work for the 2020 Tacoma’s!! Bummer. Disregard all of my questions, except what are these insert for then? And do they make Oem bed lighting for the 2020’s?

    From the 2020 parts thread, it is my understanding that 2019 and below are one kit and the 2020 has its own kit as it is pre-wired and a different shape.

    They are OEM option, came on the truck as an option. LED and super bright. Call the dealership.

    Right now there is a stop sale in the US on these units. A few other members and I have found a dealer on eBay selling the 2020 kit. I paid $70. Well worth it

    Actually, there’s at least 3 OEM bed lighting kits for the 3rd Gen Tacos.

    2016-2017 is one kit
    2018-2019 is another kit
    2020 and beyond now for another kit.

    From what I can see, they seem to be getting better with each iteration.

    Yes I actually got it for Xmas, but I did asked for it. All of these post pretty much answers my questions thou, I like the 2020 Oem lighting better too, and I’m assuming if I do purchase, it will pretty much be plug and play with the wires that aren’t connected to anything behind the tail lights. Looks like I have some bed lighting kit for sale now.

    My 2020 has the cutouts in the bed. Looks like an easy install. I'll grab a set when the Toyota dealers get these back in stock.

    +1. Got it from Sparksparts, ordered on 12/16, installed just last week, so no stop-order with them. Extremely easy. 2020 already wired for it, don’t need to do anything w the switch, just the wiring and the light by the tail lights. If you have the bed light up on the 3rd brake light, you already have the relay, so you don’t need to do that part of the instructions. Then the lights come on anytime the bed light comes on.

    I bought a set for my 2020 a few weeks ago from a Toyota dealer in Miami off of Ebay and they are a 15 minute install and come on with the cargo light. Easiest mod and half the price of buying them already installed when purchasing the truck. Hardest part is removing the tail lights when the temp was below freezing being careful not to break anything. And yes they are Toyota LED lights with the two harnesses.

    Installed new LED bed lights in 2020 Tacoma. Worked just as OP describes. Plug-n-nap.

    Question: Any ideas about how to make the bed LEDs shine red? I do a fair amount of night diving. The bed lights will be great to help me see what I am doing and get my gear sorted, but I want to keep as much of my night vision as possible. Thanks.

    Highly recommend. Bought these from Sparks Toyota online and installed in about 20 mins. These are a great addition if you don’t already have them.
