I was about to order a set of Morimoto LED fogs and I came across these. I didn’t know there were oem led housings for tacos. Are these legit? If they are could they be decent quality?

Yes they are. Got the exact ones a couple weeks ago and are very happy with them. Got them while ebay had a 10% discount going on. The light output and cutoff is great!20190317_075501.jpg 20190317_075514.jpg 20190318_040307.jpg 20190319_035735.jpg 20190319_035725.jpg 20190319_041647.jpg

Honestly, for the cash I may just go this route rather than spend the extra 50+ on Morimotos. Thanks for the input man.

No problem man, I looked at the morimotos for a long time just never pulled the trigger. Then I saw these which I believe are the exact ones that will be on the 2020 Tacoma. And with the EBay discount I couldn't pass it up. Good luck bud, you won't be disappointed

That's a horrible idea. What time?
I have the Morimoto's. I'm not as impressed as I'd like to be for the money.

ARE Z-series shell, ImMrYo mirror lift, always on fog-lights.
Just out of curiosity are these lights DOT approved on the lense? Unfortunately Hawaii checks on such things during safety inspections.

I would think the Toyota OEM LEDs should be since they already use these on some of their vehicles, and these are the ones going on the 2020 Tacoma's. As far as the Morimotos I'm not sure, but this is in their descritption, " The Morimoto fog lamps meet and exceed all SAE, DOT, and ECE regulations". Hope that helps a bit.

I don't recall if the lenses are marked or not, but they are identical to the OEM housing. If they are marked, it may be hidden behind the cover anyway. Would they check if it looks OEM?

They are. They are Valeo and have SAE stamped on the front.

Questions on these have come up enough that I will add them to the LED fog thread. Should have an update for how they compare this weekend.

if you wanted yellow fogs, is your only option laminex across the lens? or can these be disassembled to apply the laminex on the internal lens?

Morimoto just came out with some amber LEDs, but looks like their all out. The only option is to put yellow Laminx film across the housing itself. Don't believe there is a way to take it apart.

If you want selective yellow, the best option is the Rigid SAE selective yellow fogs, they will be available this month.
    https://www.rigidindustries.com/sae-dot-compliant-selective-yellow

You can see I tested the prototypes back in October:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...fog-light-review.554813/page-14#post-18889711

The final versions will be a bit more yellow using a warmer color temp LED than the prototype. I'll have the test results posted as soon as I receive the finalized version.
