I’m sure it can be repaired as well. Might just be a bad crimp somewhere. I run those as well and love them. The wires aren’t special it’s the bulbs which make it awesome.

Hey @daveeasa I’m on the verge of ordering the OEM LEDs but was curious about your harness. I’ve got the V5s and the harness for those to hook up the my current DRL, installed.
I think I asked this one the other thread but can’t seem to find it, would I be able to hook that into your base harness or would I need to order the one from you, with the added v5 hookup? Thanks!

Both will work. The DRL T tap for v5's (both MESO's one and R4T's for grille lights) simply goes upstream of the conversion harness. The more expensive integrated option just reduces bulk and extra connectors (only one female DRL connector vs two females and a male) in the event of OCD.

Thanks for that! I definitely do not have OCD… though I do like things to look nice.

Totally your call on the aesthetics vs cost. Functionally there should be absolutely no difference. With that said, LOE on the install if you already ran through the firewall is pretty low.

Good to know. Yeah, I’ve got the V5s hooked up and working. They even dim when the headlights come on, which I was not expecting to work without having to wire it to the ECU.

    Edit: Nevermind, brain fart.

    @daveeasa
    I'm confused here.
Also looking at V5's to go with my LED Headlights and your harness. Meso claims their V5 harness will only work with factory halogen headlights and they're working on something for LED headlights. What would I need (I have your standard harness, no grill lights) to connect the red and white wires on the V5's for the drl's?

This is the same language R4T uses with the DRL grille light harness. It's "misleading" (and I don't say that to disparage R4T or MESO who I think are top shelf in all aspects.) What is meant by that is "Did your Tacoma come from the factory with LED headlights" vs "Did your Tacoma come from the factory with halogen headlights" rather than "does your truck currently have LED or halogen headlights". Trucks which came factory equipped with halogen headlights can do 100% of things that trucks currently running halogen headlights can do because you have all the connectors. Trucks which came from the factory with LED headlights are only able to accept MX-150 connectors to steal stuff like DRL. I make an LED T tap for this purpose, MESO may offer something in the future which will look a lot like the halogen T tape he has available now.

    Does that help explain things?

Bottom line, you can trust me on this stuff, I won't steer you off a cliff.

Oh, and sorry, forgot to actually answer the "What would I need" question.

You can get MESO's $15 T tap. Or a halogen T tap from me if you really want it. Or an integrated headlight harness with T tap (but that's now redundant conversion harnesses so kind of a bummer for you). Or hack and slash the conversion harness you have to steal DRL and a tap from the sidemarker for parking light. Kind of "too many" options really rather than too few.

The only reason you might not opt for the $15 MESO DRL T tap is that extra bulk/length between it and the conversion harness and your headlights, makes for a bit of a rats nest. That's by far your cheapest route.

Thanks, I was just reading over the form for your headlight t- harness. I guess I need to make up my mind if I want the grill lights now too with the V5's. Also, I'm assuming the switch pros option will work with any 6-8 panel switch? I was looking at this cheaper one from auxbeam.

The "switch-pro" stuff is just trigger wires. I don't know auxbeam at all so it's up to you to decide what you need?

    * The red cable connects the master switch power cable to the ACC.If you want to light up the LED lamps before the car start-up, please connect the recommended because the higher the power is, the more the power of the battery will be consumed.
    * The yellow cable connects the width lamp to the master switch panel.
    * The white cable is the panel light brightness control cable. It can controls 3 brightness levels by each switching. You can disconnect the white cable in order to have the most brightness switch panel if required.

I'm guessing that the parking light can be used to feed the white wire? If so then it's a matter of where that connection is made, if it's in the cab you can get a switch illumination harness, but if it's in the engine bay you can always steal that from the sidemarker even if you don't have it off the headlight conversion harness, so plenty of options.

I don't see mention of an aux trigger wire like the pink on Switch-Pros which people frequently feed from high beams. That's the primary reason to really want/need the headlight conversion harness signals. Some guys have asked for DRL as an aux trigger but I'm not so sure that really makes a ton of sense to me vs high beam, not a ton of value unless you've got a christmas tree worth of drl's.

Thanks for including extra clips. I needed a blue one after separating the fender! Your harness is top notch.

This is for swapping the entire assembly to Toyota’s LED headlights for 3rd gen Tacoma. Bulb swaps do not use this harness.
