No problem.. Just an FYI. Mine is an "08" On the Amazon site, it says.. it won't work. However, going by the manufacturers website they say it will.
And it installed and is working just fine.. FWIW.

Thanks easyrider. I ordered mine Saturday and received it today. 2-1/2 hours later, I had it installed. The installation instructions from Amazon were in black and white. The pictures were difficult to see. I found the instructions on-line from Pop and Lock and the pictures were in color. Helped immensely. I had to make one modification. The arm for the drivers side tailgate mechanism had to be run over and under one of the tailgate sheet metal supports. Other than that, no other problems. I did find other vendors that had the locking tailgate handle but the camera was placed on the other side of the handle and the wiring had to be rerouted. I did not have to do that with this vendors.

When I did mine, I watched a video someone posted here on the forum. It literally took me longer to take the plastic cover off the inside of the tailgate and reinstall it than it did to install the handle. Maybe 20 minutes or so.
Sorry dude. didn't think about it or I would have posted that video. I reversed the rod like it said and re-installed it. Afterwards I used some graphite and sprayed it in the lock cylinder. It's worked like a charm. No issues.

    Edited -
Found it.. Here is the video.

Has anyone tried to replace a 2015 tailgate handle and electric locking system from a 2016?

I need one that uses the OEM key. Pop & lock is the company, hopefully it won't be a pain to install.

Not a pain. Fairly simple and straight forward to install. However, if you order from sites like Amazon, and ebay, pop & lock will not cover it with any type of warranty.

I had a P&L on my truck for the last year I agree did not like the feel and last week the handle snapped with the tailgate and my gator cover closed. I used a piece of wire to open the cover and then proceeded to remove the tailgate inside cover so I could reach in and manually open the tailgate. Basically the handle back side just cracked right off, I do not think I will be replacing it I put the stock handle back on and it feels better.

I highly Suggest not buying Pop and Lock. Mine has broke just buy opening the tail gate one day. I have called 4 times, Left voice mails. Emailed them. Got 1 reply two weeks after my first email. It has now been a month since I talked to "John" from Pop and Lock. STILL WAITING TO GET MY REPLACEMENT. FUCK Pop and Lock. Save your money or at least keep your old one. I will never, ever deal with pop and lock for as long as I live. They will not be getting any money from me. I will let as many people as I know humanly possibly.

My pop n lock seems ok but it's still new, I have the codeable one and just installed it a couple months ago. It's sad to hear about all these issues as they're probably one of the only companies manufacturing tailgate locks for the Tacoma. Anyways I can't believe the truck doesn't come with one from the factory. I've heard people mention going to a locksmith and having the cylinder, tumblers, internal components completely rekeyed with quality parts. I know it would be additional money but I may look into this at some point for peace of mind.

I have my second Pop and Lock. The first one broke. The plastic tab on the P&L that pushes the release mechanism snapped off. Like everyone says "it feels like its in a bind" when you pull up the handle. So I disassembled the new one and fabricated a galvanized piece of heavy tin to the shape of the plastic piece. Crazy glued it to the surface of the plastic piece and reinstalled it. So now the plastic tab is reinforced and it has a metal backing, and it hasn't broke yet.
