oem oh shit handle on driver side?

Just wondering if it's possible to get an oem handle on the driver side as I don't have one, but do the passenger side...

 

For what year and model?

Hu? Wonder why they got rid of that? My 2000 has a driver side oh shit handle...

 

Well I'll have to take the panel off and see if there's even some bolt holes in there. I'll have to do some digging in some parts diagrams and see.

 

My '99 4x4 has one also, must be a 4x4 feature. I'm sure you could get a grab handle and install it on the DS. Those holes are likely there.

I did this for my '84 4Runner. I did not have a grab handle on both sides, but the threaded holes were behind the roof-line, and I installed an OEM handle.

 

Yeah ou have the holes there I just ordered new pillar pieces for a 4wd and the handles came with it, bolts right in

Awesome. Gonna order one up. I'm tired of either hopping up in, or tippy toeing and wedging my ass cheek on the seat and scootin in, or pulling the steering wheel and have it lock on me. Lol.

 

You wanna stick with whatever year yours is or at least that range since the interiors changed.

 

I would also pull off your pillar cover and see if there is a spot to mount the handle. Getting a new cover with a handle won't be much good if you can't bolt the handle down.

Does anyone know if the double cabs have threads/mounts for an oh sh*t handle, for the front seats, in the proper location for one:
