    Afternoon everyone.........

Last week I had an issue with my '17. 103k on it.

I was on my way home listening to music on my factory radio with the aux/ usb port.

To my knowledge my truck is bone stock electrically nothing cut or messed with.

I turned my truck off went into the store BS'd with a friend came back 15 minutes later started the truck up and suddenly had no audio coming from the radio.

Strange thing is everything works on the unit except no audio and no beep when pressing buttons on the radio.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks B

(note I did look at fuses nothing seemed out of the ordinary and I have no lights etc happening)

Try unhooking the Negative battery cable for 30 minutes.

You can also check if newer Entune firmware is available and might fix your issue.

Try different functions - unpair Bluetooth, switch to FM radio. Make sure volume isn't turned down on your phone and on the head unit.

Morning and thanks for the replies.

I did try removing the negative terminal unfortunately no change, and switching between all the different functions worked fine just no audio from anything. (Speakers or beeps when switching functions)

Like I said I went from playing some Disturbed:rolleyes:....turned off the truck.....20 min later went to drive home,no audio smh.....

Sounds like a short somewhere or maybe a connection got loose?

I need to see about the firmware update.

Anybody know the functionality of the "short pin" I think it's called in the fuse box?

I was going to replace that before I have the dealer see what they can figure out.

It's in-between the 2 radio fuses, the thing looks beat.

I'll see my dealer after work and swap out that short pin.

The SHORT pin is removed for shipping from the factory, it turns off most unnecessary features. No idea what 'beat" means. If that were your problem a lot more problems would show themselves. See the attachments: Power Source page 3 shows the "Shorting Pin". Fuse list will show what all the fuses are for.

The short pin looked badly discolored possibly damaged.
I swapped it out for a new one and nothing changed.
I'll have to bring it to the dealer to diagnose.

    Hopefully it's not too costly.......:fingerscrossed:

I'd pull a door panel and test a speaker with another audio source. If the speakers are good, and nothing has been messed with in the dash, it would seem there is a headunit problem.

If that needs replacing, you might as well go aftermarket. You can get more, better, for less than OE. Especially from a dealer.

I've even bought used OE on eBay at bargain prices for other marques when my goal was to maintain originality

Agreed on checking the head unit next.
For my needs the oem is good as is.
Any idea how much of a PITA it is to remove the radio?
    I'll YT it later thanks.

Just hoping I don't have another harness issue from Mickey or Minnie.........
