    Hello,

I'm installing an aftermarket deck in my 2015 Tacoma. I have a meastro and a TO t harness. The harness comes with a 4 wire lead with stripped wires and instruction stating to splice into a factory harness but that's about all it says. I've watched a few videos on how to make these connections. I've isolated the correct factory harness and I've isolated the 6v power wire and the power ground wire. I've attempted connecting the video wires and then the video wires in reverse and I've switched the ground wires as well however I cannot seem to get a video feed on the deck. I've attached a different RCA video output into the deck to ensure the deck is working. I've also double checked the new harness is supplying power and it's supply 5.1v as apposed to the 5.9v from the factory deck but i can't imagine that's my issue. Just to make sure I think ill take a fully charged 6 volt (6.4v) battery and connect it to the OEM camera this weekend to see if it's a voltage issue.

Any suggestions advice or discussion is welcome.

    Thanks in advance.

Is the factory camera compatible with your new system? If so, maybe disconnect the camera (if possible), and wire direct to the unit, to rule out the wiring in between.

I'm bringing up an old one here.

I just bought a new Pioneer HU. My regular cab has no camera on the tailgate, but I think it does have a wiring harness in the tailgate? Is it possible to use the wiring harness in the tailgate to run an aftermarket camera to my new HU?

I am lazy and the thought of not running camera wiring from my license plate to the new HU is very appealing. I'd prefer the license plate location in case I'm running with the tailgate down but I'm more interested in ease of install.
