09 Tacoma base model.. it came with the camera and wiring to the headliner just no rear view with monitor. Have an alpine ilxw650 coming in later this week and I’m looking to wire the camera to the head unit, what I can understand is I would need a dc converter to convert it to 6vdc ?? Also reading that a converter isn’t necessary as it runs fine off the 12v but the quality isn’t that good. Not a crazy wiring tech like a lot of guys and gals on here so any input or wiring diagrams would be great. Any links to a write up on how to wire it to the head unit so I can use it not only in reverse but whenever with the press of a button. Lots of questions but is there another pigtail that isn’t in the headliner I’d be able to wire the rca to so I don’t have to run wires back down the headliner to the dash ? Pics of the connector above the headliner below tia, if I don’t get answers I’ll mock something up and if it works I’ll do a “diy for idiots” write up lol

I believe metra has a 12 to 6v step down search their site for your vehicle and your reverse cam wires should be in the drivers kick, just do a search in this forum or google it.
