Looking for help!! I took off the swinging bar on the OEM roof rack because it had a spot that the paint came off, and want to repaint it, so instead of removing the whole roof rack I thought it would be easier to remove the one screw that holds the swinging bar on. The problem is when I went to put it back on the screw just turns, there's nothing in the hole where the screw goes. Did I lose something, or did the bolt side drop down into the hole? just wondering if anyone has removed this bar before I take off the whole rack and open it up to look for the bolt?

If I remember correctly there is a nut inside the sleve that may have come out. Take it apart and have a look. Updates?

The nut inside either slid away or moved and that’s why the screw isn’t catching. May have to remove rack to fix

Look at some install videos and its not as bad as you think. I have installed a few sets, you don't have the nut lined up.

It's actually pretty easy to remove the rack but I'm sure the dealer can fix it.
