I installed a factory roof rack on my 2017 Tacoma last night. Install was easy, but I have about a 3/16" gap between the rack and window channel on each side. This is how the holes lined up. Will this still drain properly or do I need to try to fill this gap? Anyone else run into this?

The front passenger side of my rack has a gap too. Does water leak into the cabin?

There was a big rain here all day and cabin is dry. It's well sealed, it just still irks you a little bit when you end up with a gap.

Yours looks better than mine and it just DOWNPOURED for 3 straight days in SE Texas and not a drop in the cab. I think your'e ok, but watch it for the first few good rains. If you have problems, you'll need to disassemble and use locktite in the threads to seal, or maybe some silicone. Your call. Honestly though, it's probably fine.

I'm getting leaks on both sides of the seatbelts when I run my truck through the car wash. I installed the rack myself with no instructions, does it come with silicone to seal the bolts? Any help is appreciated.

Mine had adhesive washers to go with the bolts.

I used a silicone sealant that comes in a small white tube that I got at lowes that I used when I put a Baja rack on my FJ. Don't overdo it though. Can't remember the name of it, though...

Yea, clean the area, put down some silicone where the bolts go in. Run of the mill silicone will do fine, I tend to use GE brand. I have installed countless lightbars for police vehicles with just a grommet and silicone, and no leakage. It's great stuff.

    Looks fine to me.

I actually ran into a problem installing my Prinsu rack. The sheetmetal was misaligned on the roof when welded and some of the factory holes weren't fully exposed. They were an oval shape instead of a hole shape. Took it to the dealer and they drilled out new holes in their body shop under warranty. No leaks. If yours was professionally installed, or you followed the directions installing, you shouldn't have a problem

What is the distance between the two cross bars when they are going side to side?

Does anyone have an exact measurement they can share? The Yakima Megawarrior rack I want to put on top of my Tacoma needs the crossbars to be a max of 38" apart. The bars are not adjustable, correct?

I did lots and lots of research and then bought one simliar.

It's 43", and that rack won't fit unless you buy the 18" extension, which will then cause it to hang a bit.

The factory crossbars look good, but are very limited in which baskets will fit. The problem is the designs of most baskets assume the crossbars can slide toward and away from the front of the cab to adjust for the connecting pieces that (on the baskets), can only move side to side.

What you need is a basket where you can reach at least 46" and the mounting point can move forwards and backwards, to accommodate the OEM roof rack. The only ones I found were in the $400 + range, and at that I'd probably just sell this thing and buy a Prinsu rack.

Oh, another solution for you. Leave the OEM crossbars at their sides, and buy some additional crossbars that connect to them, which makes your setup adjustable.

Extra cost, but I think Thule had a system that worked and it would then allow you to fit just about anything you want up there.

Can anyone confirm that the loadwarrior will fit the OEM roof rack? I kept my loadwarrior from my Xterra but those crossbars were adjustable. Don't want to have to buy bars to put on bars to put the basket on. Thanks

looks normal to me, spray with a garden hose for a bit and monitor, I installed these on a 2011,2012, and 2015 and they all have some gap, yours doesn't look too bad, make sure to torgue the mounting bolts to spec as well
