I cannot really find a definitive answer on here about this, but does anyone know if the PT27835170 roof rack will fit my 2012? This seems to be all that the local dealers can get and they say it only fits 2016 and up. Looks to be the exact same part as PT27835050 for the 2nd gens. Need something for my two 10 ft kayaks, 40 lbs each. I have a fiberglass Leer bed cover that will not close with them in the bed, not to mention they take up all of the space for luggage and chairs when traveling for vacation.

You will see that the OEM roof racks now only have one part number and even my Toyota dealer told me it would not fit until I went to another Toyota dealer and he advised me that the roofs have not changed since 05

I believe the 3rd Gen racks have a slightly higher weight capacity too

Find a online price before you go into dealer. I asked them to match the price and they came within $15 and I didn’t have to pay shipping. I think the stock rack finishes the look of the truck. It doesn’t hold much weight but it is some what functional 7132AA61-93FB-47FB-91B4-3BD38BB8A535.jpg
