I did search, and found only 1 thread where 1 person said they had used the Fatcat 6 on their OEM rack, but there were no details, so...my question:

Has anyone used the Yakima Fatcat 6 ski/board rack with the OEM roof rack? The reason I ask is that the installation instructions say there should be 12"-24" for skis/boards under 170cm, and 12"-36" for 170+, and our crossbars have approximately 40" between each them. Has this caused a problem for anyone with skis/boards moving while driving? I'm not nearly as worried about theft, as I never leave my skis out at night, but I don't want them to come out while I'm heading up to the mountain.

My skis are 170s, so I'm not as worried about them, but more my girl's board and other friends' skis, which are shorter. I would assume it would still work, but wanted to make sure. If anyone has any other experiences with ski/board racks using the OEM roof rack, that would help too. Thanks.

Bump...anyone have ANY experience with skis on top of the factory rack? I'm between the Fatcat 6 and the Thule 92725 carriers right now, but I'll take any firsthand experience from anyone that I can get.

Updating this thread for future reference, for anyone wondering the same thing. This is my truck with the factory roof rack and Yakima Fatcat 6 ski racks. A size 150 snowboard WILL fit on the rack securely. I don't have any pictures of of the snowboard and my skis on there, but if someone wants, I can do that at some later date.

I would highly recommend the Fatcat 6. the skis and boards are held in really securely, and the double-hinge system allows things of different thickness to all be held tightly. The racks seem really high quality, and do have a lifetime warranty. I've noticed only a moderate amount of wind noise when they're on.

Old thread, but can anyone confirm this setup would fit 4 snowboards with bindings on them?

A few mods here and there and counting....
I used to run the thule snowboard rack on top and carried 4 snowboards, longest one at 162 and shortest at 148 with bindings w no issue. The bottom facing boards' bindings had to be buckled and tucked away as much as possible as they contacted the roof just a tiny bit.
