For those of you that have them ... what are your thoughts?

    Looks? Are they convenient?

I don't care to hear about tubes ... sliders ... just the boards ...:D

I have them. .. love the look, and they don't flex when you stand on them.

Downside: they kind of jut out a bit so you tend to scrape the back of your leg on them when you get in and out of your truck.

    Overall, I love them! !! :)

    Stock for now
My experience is the same as Art's.
Had the OEM gray ones on my 2006 DC for 5 yrs & didn't rust in VT
    the powder coat was great

On my 2013 I bought the OEM black ones
They make tying my kayak on roof rack easy
Install was a snap, love mine too. :)

Found a gray set on CL for $75 and pounced on it. A bit older and had some imperfections but my wife likes it and that's all it matters. All I had to change was the hardware which was rusty. Inexpensive at Home Depot

I've had them on both my Tacomas, worked and looked great for me. To me the above mentioned downside is a plus as they help prevent door dings, this is the main reason that I have them.

LOL, never thought of that! OK, maybe the "protrusion" isn't so much of a down side after all... :p

    OEM Running Boards installed...

I'm liking what I hear ... these are bolt on correct? ... ready to pull the trigger ... now to find the lowest price ... thanks.

They are bolt on... stupidly easy to install. The hanger brackets are included, it's three hanger brackets to a side.

Attach hanger brackets to running boards loosely.

Simply pop out the plastic plugs in the body, and thread in the hanger brackets/running boards loosely.

Tighten everything up and you are done! Shouldn't take more than 1/2 hour tops. And that's including time to drink a beer. (or two) ;)

I know that you were not interested in bars and the like... I will say I just added bars to mine from GoRhino that have a step that sticks out. I like the look and ability for my 4'11" wife to get into my truck. Install is way easy on any of these you get with a designed fit. The holes for the bolts are pared rilles and tapped very plug and plays type install! Good luck with what ever you decide. I think that as far as my steps stick out I may prevent some door dings as well..at least I hope so!

I like my OEM running boards. They have a nice clean look, are tucked up nicely and don't stick out (and look like pontoons) like the OEM step tubes that came on my truck. I sold those after a year. I use them for accessing my rack, otherwise, they're primarily for keeping gravel & rock from dinging up lower doors.

Thanks for all the input guys ... went with OEMs .... came in this afternoon ... took longer to read the directions than to install ... a great look ... pictures tomorrow.

I'm starting to like that style more than I want to admit. Do they stick out past the body (would they stop door dings?)

Maybe 2" from curve of door ... so I'm told ... I'll get pictures tomorrow.

I have had them on both my tacos with no issues. They do not dull like some of the metal ones and are easy to keep clean. I believe they line up flush with factory wheels and tires. And like the other posts said they prevent door dings from people that are too lazy to open their doors properly.

I am trying to attach them from my IPad... Check my profile if they don't upload. I'll try from my lap top over next time I power it up.
