Sos, I shut my driver side door last night and to my chagrin I hear a rattling. I was like wth I just got new wheels and tires did something get messed up? I look closer one of the bolts fell out of my stock skid plate? Hmm well the parts center closed untio monday, is there anything I can get at home depot to hold me over until Monday? Part number is 90080-11373

Just make sure all the other bolts are tight, it won't fall off if the others are tight.

it won’t rattle if the others are tight either. Wonder if OP got an oil change recently, they probably didn’t torque down the bolts.

My 1st Gen plate was hanging by only a two bolts when I got home from one of those places that changes your oil in a jiffy- they couldn’t get the plate back on correctly and just barely hung it back on without telling me. I found out why it wouldn’t fit- their oil wrench was on top of it jammed against the oil pan. They probably left it on the filter and it fell onto the plate when they were trying to rehang it!:smack: :annoyed::rofl:

I did get an oil change recently but usually they’re reliable people been going to them for years but it didn’t start happening until 2 weeks after oil change, maybe they didn’t screw it in all the way but it’s definitely bothering me I think I’m going to wait until tomorrow go to the parts center and grab the OEM one I have ocd lol

This just happened to me - dealership oil change, a month later my skid plate almost fell off as all 4 bolts had worked their way out and it was only hanging by the tabs in the front. Had to go to ACE and get 4 bolts, beside to use antisieze as well and torque to spec. I think it was 25-30nm if I recall correctly.

those both don’t just fall off or get lose when torqued on correctly, they didn’t tighten them enough when you got your oil change. But that could have been better than having them over tightened and stripping out the threads. Glad it didn’t fall off while you were driving somewhere.

OEM bolts? No such thing… Toyota doesn’t make bolts, and they have many different suppliers, maybe even the same as the ones True Value uses. But that’s ok, I understand if someone would rather being handed the right one instead of finding it themselves.

Get the TRD skid and you won't have to remove it to change oil. That was my excuse to buy one!
