Hello all, I haven't posted much here. I'm interested in finding deal on the OEM Tailgate opening system. I checked my local dealer, they sell for $169.99. With a 10% discount it's $153. I saw someone posting about a dealer or warehouse selling much less but unable to recall the post. Would anyone happen to know who sells these OEM systems at less than local dealer? Thank you all in advance!

OMGitsme, that's what I was looking for!

Hello jimmerheck, thank you. I would like to keep it simple. Not a great DIY on the newer 2020 model. Thank you for suggestion.

Hello Tyler, I plan to install it myself. I just read through 32 pages here on TacomaWorld, everyone said no problem. Dealers are asking for 3-6 hours labor when member are quoting 1-2 hours themselves having never installed one. I just looked up Bam wholesale parts.
OMGitsme was correct, $129.71. Can't beat that price from what I have been seeing. Good luck to you.

Dealers here charge over $100.00 + per hour...( see if you can get a fix price?) or buy the parts and find a friend or other mechanics- independent ones...?

An off road shops nearby..check with them..even audio shops...
Watch a few install videos ..like ..YouTube (4taco twonz)..he got lots of install videos..

I did mine last weekend. It didn't come with instructions so I used YouTube as a guide. Took an hour or so. It was pretty darn easy all said and done.

I got mine from BAM wholesale and installed myself
Did it in less than two hours stopping for calls and other distractions. The wire follows the frame from the front kick panel . I’ve had it for 6 months and it works great

Same for me, BAM wholesale and installed it myself. On a scale of 1 to 10 for difficulty I'd put it at a 2.

I also got mine from BAM I think for around $129. As others have mentioned it is a super easy install. Literally, plug and play. No wiring involved at all. There are a ton of videos on Youtube that will walk you through, step by step.

This was probably one of my favorite mods. It's super convenient being able to unlock the tailgate with the remote.

It's not hard. Just have a creeper, some tin snips, and something for snipping cable ties. The OEM instructions are detailed and easy to follow. The hardest part for me was getting the tailgate grommet set properly with the loom routed through it. Took me about 2.5 hours, and I took my time to make everything pretty.

Installed my OEM tailgate lock today, as easy as everyone said all plug and play. Super nice mod to the rig
