Has anyone found the screws incredibly difficult to ratchet in on the brackets as if you’re rethreading the hole?

So if I find a used cover, what is the total cost of all the hardware needed to install?

    Thanks

Just a heads up to all looking for hardware… I just got all the pieces listed (27) minus the one locking bolt (already have) from Passport Toyota with code FREESHIP for $183!!

So I just purchased everything as well. I accidentally purchased one extra part but I have a list also and I have 28 items. I think you might be missing one. But most importantly do you have the bed side
Molding black pieces. I have had a hard time getting all these because if they dont come one your trucks vin then they cancel the order.

I am missing the lock bolt that goes up by the cab on passenger side bc I already had it… probably should have mentioned that. Good call. As for the seals and bed rail covers, I haven’t gotten that far yet… I’m running wires through the one side, so may just make my own seals. Bed rail covers, probably just going to modify my OEM covers. Per the VIN, I did not enter my number bc I knew the part numbers and quantum’s were correct.

You need these part side rails that have a special cut out where the brackets have to go attached. Its another 300 for two plastic parts. 145 for each side.

You do and don’t. There have been a few posts on here of people marking the spot and cutting their factory plastics without issues. All in how much you wanna spend and how good you are at cutting. I’ll modify mine before I spend that much on caps. That’s ridiculous! I’m already pissed I spent just under $200 on hardware!

My truck came with the factory cover, but the video below is super helpful. When you buy one used, I'd try to talk the person into selling the hardware and swapping rails, too. How-to swap:

The factory setup includes a little alignment block on the bed front rail. I just leave it off and align it with the eye.

That would be ideal in most situations… but the guy I got my cover from had already covered his rail caps with all his overlanding gear… he was adamant about he wasn’t pulling it all off to get the caps off. I paid $100 for a cover that was on his truck for maybe a couple weeks at most until he took it off. Only reason he had it to begin with was his truck came with it from dealer.

I get it, but an exchange of parts would be the ideal. More of an fyi for others anyhow.

You'll love the cover and it's worth the hardware cost! I rotate mine out with open bed and Softopper, and I might build a headache rack eventually. Out west on the ranch, they can be quite useful for saving the rear window.

No, the plastic alignment part he installs at 1:51. The rubber plugs/grommets are useful, but it could be diy'ed IMHO.

Will be purchasing a OEM Tonneau cover used for my 22 tacoma this week! My 18 had one and I really liked it so figured I’d pull the trigger and buy one. The seller is including all of the hardware and plans it’s except for the foam caps at the side of the bed closest to the cab. Has anyone come up with a creative way to fill those gaps so I don’t have to buy $60 pieces of foam?

Technically they’re rubber, but I have seen people use different types of silicone, etc.

Anybody in the market to swap 6' non-tonneau bedrail caps for 6' tonneau bedrail caps and all the other OEM tonneau cover hardware? I recently purchased a 2019 DCLB that previously had an OEM tonneau cover installed but the cover had been removed and discarded from damage. I am looking for the bedrail caps that have not been cut. I also have all the necessary hardware minus the two rubber gap fillers at the top front of the box.

I'm located near Minneapolis, MN but will ship.

Any one have a pic of the underside of the tonneau cover where the bolt hole is? I bought a cover off Craigslist and it looks like they disassembled this part.

I assume it should go together like this?

    Thank you in advance.

Can anyone post the dimensions of the strikers that mount in the bed. I’ve decided to fabricate my own and just need to know the location of the center of the striker pin in relation to the two mounting holes. Is it about 1.5 inches outward and centered with the mounting plate?
