Same bed should fit no problem. I have an access cab and bought the OEM cover from a guy with a double cab longbed. No issues. They are pretty rare, took me a while to find one.

Well now I'm more tempted. Either I go OEM and save a couple hundred or i spend 850-950 on a Bakflip MX4.

I’m looking for some of these bed rail protectors.

Got an oem tonnoeau from a guy, but he doesn’t want to remove the hardware because the existing protectors are cut and it may be cheaper to buy him a new/used set than replacing the hardware

    I’m in MA

My truck came with the OEM cover. It looks like an aftermarket install as the cuts on the rail caps are rough.
Does anyone know if it is possible that the “pegs” could be installed upside down? I ask because the front and rear panels sit much higher on the ends than the rest of the cover.

I bought a second hand 5' OEM tri fold for a 3rd gen. It came with all the hardware except for the plastic notched side bed cap protectors and the plastic surrounds that cover the pegs, that bolt into the side of sides of the bed.
I know I can just cut notches in the side bed caps to fit but I'm not sure if omitting the the plastic surrounds for the peg hardware would lead to any issues. Any thoughts?
I wish these little parts weren't so expensive.

Probably just depends on if you care about the cosmetics. Personally I want it to look clean so I opted for the covers.

As for the bed rail caps... I decided to bite the bullet and buy them. Mainly cause the guy I bought my cover from didn’t want to swap with me, but also I want the originals in case I ever sell mine.

What is probably happening is the cleats are interfering with the cover. There are a couple stand offs to allow the cover to be supported when folded and they can hit the cleats. Move them an inch or two and it should close correctly.

Does anyone have the part number for the bolt on the passenger front side? The “safety bolt” per say. I ordered part number 64935-04010, but it looks nothing like the bolt I’ve been seeing people have.

    Thanks,
    Max

The bolt is like $80 from the factory or something stupid like that. Other people have purchased the same size bolt, but I forget the size off hand.

What is the part number for the right front passenger bracket? On the Toyotapartsdeal.com site when I type in
69442-04030, it comes up with the “striker” that looks just like the others. But this is supposed to be the one that holds the safety bolt.

I think this might be answered above, but just because I want to be certain. Are the 64949-04010 fasteners used for the mount points m6’s. I need to tap my holes to get the paint and rust out so I can install my cover and I want to make sure I’ve got the right tap.

Also, this thread says use a T27, but my fasteners fit a t30. Any chance I somehow ended up with the wrong fasteners?

I don't know about the tap size.
When I had installed my cover I used T27 bit and another user said they had used a T30 bit.

So here's a question.... The long bolts that stick out for the latches to catch on to lock the tonneau cover in place...... They stick out a long way. So depending on where the latch catches them (closer to the bed rails, or more towards center of truck), why can you just drill a 1/4" hole in the side rails for the bolts to stick through and not have to cut out that big ugly ass rectangle and then have to use those filler plates after assembly?
