    Hi all!

My name is Matt and Ive been designing battery systems for off-road and expedition vehicles for quite a few years. I was even lucky enough to have a small feature in Overland Journal (Winter 2008) for a system I designed in a 2003 Tacoma. Since then, I have designed and installed multiple custom power systems in a variety of vehicles.

I am now producing battery trays and full wiring kits for Toyota Trucks under the name of OFF-GRID ENGINEERING, LLC.

Below is the release of my first product. I hope you all like it!

Introducing the most over-engineered battery tray ever built. This is the 2nd Gen Tacoma Passenger-Side Single Battery Tray. It is designed to fit trucks with ATRAC (and any other truck that does not have the ABS block on the passenger side fender). It fits without permanent modification of the truck in any way. The fuel resistor simply swivels 90 degrees on the factory harness and is bolted to your new tray. The tray is then secured via three factory studs and the two holes where the resistor used to mount. Total install time is less than 10 minutes.

The tray and tie-down are cut via water-jet out of 1/4" Aluminum
It will come with all new zinc-coated hardware
The tray comes pre-assembled as you see here

This tray will eventually retail for a few bucks more... But I am offering an introductory price for TacomaWorld and ExPo members.

    $149.00

More trays are in the works! I will be releasing a dual battery tray for the 2nd Gen Tacoma drivers side location, 1st Gen Tacoma drivers-side location, 4runners, FJ Cruisers, and a few more! Stay Tuned.

Full systems now available!! See pic above and check out the rest of this thread for updates!

Full systems with tray start at $599.00
    Lots of custom options available!

Will this tray fit a Group 31 or a Group 34 battery? @HeliMedic awesome looking product, and looking forward to the new innovations you come up with

This tray was specifically designed around an Odyssey Group 35 (same size as a 25) battery. It will also fit the Odyssey Group 34 and the Optima Group 34 and Group 35. A Group 31 is a bit too large to squeeze in there without moving a bunch of stuff.

What I recommend to some folks wanting a larger auxiliary battery is this... Install this tray with a Group 35 and run it as your starting battery, then install whatever massive size AGM battery suits your needs in the factory location and run it as your auxiliary/ house battery.

And thanks for the support! Im excited to get a few more designs out and show you all what my kits will offer.

I'm about ready after GUTTING all my old accessory wiring yesterday. It will be easy to incorporate the 2nd battery.
