What after-market front bumpers are you guys running on your first gens?

Can you do any fab work? There are “kits” out there but they require welding and a bit of tinkering time.

There are tube bumpers, plate bumpers, and a combo of the two. Style is subjective and pricing varies but none are cheap. Price over the years has gone up.

I've had one of these sitting in the garage for years now. Was planning to use it someday.

I went ARB up front on mine, would've made one for the rear.

Rear is super easy on these things based on how the rear of the frame is.

No worries, you guys have some of the best welded stuff I've seen on this forum.

I love making strong and pretty welds myself, but all your guys stuff is so damn consistent it's sexy.

Plan for a full 3 day weekend to do it, but I’m still happy with mine. Cut holes in the backside to get more airflow to the bottom half of your radiator.

    3 day?

I knocked mine out all same day within a few hours.

Tubes notched, finish welded, welds sanded flush, prepped, painted, and mounted? Welding it is the easy part. I did mine in my driveway with flux core so sure it took a little longer than a pro in a fab shop, but it’s still a good bit of work either way.

Ok, you did it fast if you add painting

I would same day for everything, then paint it another day and let it cure for a week.

Cheapest option is perfectly timing someone dumping a used one. I know in my area I’ve never seen one get posted for sale on fb or offerup.
Next would be a DIY kit if you have the tools and know-how, this would range between $4-700.
Then you have tube bumpers. I have a trail
Gear low profile, it’s going for $800 from trail gear these days, looks like summit has it for under $700 but make sure that comes with the mounting plate.
There’s also the All Pro Baja tube bumper. I’m sure there’s a lot of other options but these are the big ones I know of.
Then you have plate bumpers, I usually see these between $1000-$1500, although I did see one from 4xinnovations under $800.

I'll join on this thread rather than start a new one. Looking for a single tube front and rear bumpers for my 2002. Who is out there that is NOT All-Pro or Trail gear? I'll burn my Tacoma to the ground before supporting either.

    A kit is acceptible.
