I want to mount my Hella 700FF behind my grille on the radiator support but the lights are too big and they hit the radiator.

Do you guys have any suggestions/pictures that can help with situation.

    Thanks for the help.

SOrry to be debby downer- but it sounds like the lights are just too big. UNless you have the deep dish satoshi grille that you can move out to be flush or something....I think you might be SOL.

Not all off road lights will fit back there. The folks who have mounted them up have measured before they got the lights and modified their choices to get lights that would clear everything.

yeah i talked to my friend's dad whose build two custom crawlers (both are land cruisers and are bad ass) and he said to take a piece of angle iron, slap that on the radiator support and that should pull the lights away from the radiator enough. so ill pick that up tomorrow and hopefully get it done thursday.

I was going to mount some bigger lights behind my grille but was concerned with not enough airflow getting to the radiator...not sure if it would cause an issue. I went with the Hella 500FF's and did not have a problem, though they aren't very bright so I am going to upgrade them to 100w. Just my $.02

Screwed up my fist set of lights were Hella Black Magic. They were too big. Sold them on TW and bought the 500FF. I agree Squirrel... not as bright as I had hoped. How are you upgrading to 100W? new lights or changing the bulbs? I guess I don't remember if the bulbs can be changed.

Yeah, there are several threads around the internet about converting them (some even convert to HID). You have to go with a heavier guage wire, 30A fuses, as well as changing out the bulbs. I'll probably do a write-up when I get around to do it.

I attached to elbow brackets from home depot and purchased four u bolts to mount them on the grill along with drilling 3/8 hole for the lights to mount on to the total cost was about fifteen dollars. [IMG]
