    Hi TW,

I’ve done a good deal of gravel roads and a little bit of sand and stuff requiring 4HI. But I still have a problem I’ve encountered twice that I’d like to learn how to do right.

Let’s say the taco is in a ditch followed by a hump. To get out of the ditch and onto the upslope of the hump, I have to slowly press the gas pedal until it gets enough torque and climbs the hump. So I have my foot on the gas. But once the wheel is on the hump it starts falling down past it from momentum and gravity. Soon it starts dropping into the ground after the hump and hits the ground, but here’s where the problem occurs: my foot is on the gas pedal and inertia and gravity drive my foot further into the gas creating a positive feedback situation, and the truck therefore nose-dives into the ground from this positive-feedback situation. Is there a name for this, and how do I avoid it?

    thanks

is this cause of poor approach angle?

I’m not sure if approach angle is the problem?

BTW I did find a potential answer to my problem in this video: https://youtu.be/hAzPh_esIi8 at 7:20, he talks about how you should always place your foot firmly on the center tunnel rather than pivoting on the gas pedal as one normally does in regular driving, and instead roll the ankle to give gas.
