That's another great point Jan- Having your own opinions is good- but knowing when to listen to other peoples is important too. That guys I mentioned had two spotters (one of whom drives a heavily modified/sponsored rig) and several others folks around watching and had apparently had issues in the past.
    Knowing your limits is key.

Two spotters? That's not a good thing either. You can't have more than one person telling the driver what to do.

I hate it when other people (the spectators) are barking out directions. As a driver - I'm focused on one spotter. The rest of you...SHUT the hell up!!! I can't hear my spotter!!

I can see where you are coming from. These guys were a pretty good team cause the second guy was the normal spotter for the sponsored guys rig. Already a pretty good team....ya know??

I like slow. If you run up against something you need a little momentum for, you can always back up and get it.

Barging ahead stupid fast is a good way to break things.

I take it slow as possible, especially on muddy trails. Don't get my wrong, I like to decorate my truck by slingin some mud every now and then... but I love to just put it in 4 lo and let the truck go on its own. I am able to learn the strong points and weak points my my tires/ suspension set up that way.

On the other hand, I love watching other people go full throttle through tight places. That type of wheeling always leads to breaking more stuff. My favorite part is when they get out of their truck and can't figure out why their wheel is seperated from the axle.

Relentless Armored! Too many others to list.
depends on the conditions/terrain... and my mood :p Somtimes you just wanna go all out beat the terrain mercilessly... like snow and sand most of the time. In those conditions, momentum can often be your friend, like a soft patch of sand or a deeper spot in the snow. If you arent going fast enough to blast though, you'll be winching your ass out! But then theres the tight technical stuff with lots of trees, rocks, etc... thats when you want to go slow, but still sometimes use a little throttle to bump up and over an obstacle.

When you're hammering the small whoops in the desert at 50mph and you see those big truck whoops you better hope you can stop before you hit them.
Or you do what I do when you know that it's not going to be an easy stop, and stomp that shit to the floor.

Philosophy: "When in doubt, mash it."

i always go slow. whenever i go wheelin with people i usually stay in the back because i am the slowest one out there, but i also don't break a lot of stuff. the way i see it if i have the time to go wheelin then im not in any hurry and would be able to get back on my own power.

however, if i am on the road i like to be in front

when in mud, i go throttle out so that i don't ever stop. a buddy and me were mudding in his chevy 1500 and we were going slow and got stuck. We were stuck really good so i hopped in his truck and gunned it and we finally got out.

my wheeling really depends on a lot of things.
but i really enjoy watching others hit mud holes with the throttle mashed.then when they are done i crawl through the same hole, stereo blaring, windows down. sometimes i even back up through the mess. it is especially rewarding, seeing the looks on their faces when i do this.
