Dude please tell me you didn’t take a brand new taco out to Jim creek. That silt will never get out of there

Ah, recognize the area? I mulled it over, and decided with my 100k warranty i'm not concerned.
I of course cleaned it up pretty well when I got back

More importantly, I specifically bought this vehicle for it's off-road chops. To keep it a highway queen would be a waste

Yup wheeled for many years around there, so I’ve seen first hand what that silt does to rubber seals. Can be really hard on suspension bushings, leaf springs, shocks, and driveline. Just keep in mind that pressure washers can make it worse around those areas as it can force it between seals. Seen too many folks complain about it on new trucks before, and lots of places around anchorage have denied claims, citing vehicle abuse. Not meaning to discourage, but just what I’ve seen in my 6 years up there. There’s lots of fun trails up by eureka roadhouse that I’d frequent, though it’s probably way to muddy out there for stock tires.

Yeah, I try not to pressure wash anything too close

In my Ford tech days I denied a claim for similar reasons.... But I think I can hide the evidence :p

Oh and before your leaves start squeaking from the silt, you may want to cover them in fluid film. I learned the hard way with my 2nd gen and 84 pickup.
