No. Remove the spacer or you run a very gold chance of blowing/snapping the shock at the base. Don’t get a body lift either

You should get about 2.5” of Lift with your bumper.

ToyTec 1" body lift is good. I wouldn't go anymore than that. At the same time that you do the body lift, upgrade your body mounts to the Energy Suspension polyurethane mounts.

I've made my decision on lift, but I still have a question. I am considering several different UCA's but don't have the budget for them right now. Will I be ok to run on stock UCA's for a little while?

I would not recommend it.

 

I’d wait until you can get aftermarket UCAs. You will most likely not be able to get proper alignment specs with 886s and stock UCAs.

 

Anything bigger than 285 you'll prob rub on the stock control arms, and with the 886's and 1/2" top plate, your alignment will be shit without replacing the control arms.

 

Didn’t see the top plate spacer in your post. I would not put a spacer on top of the 886 coils.

 

I figured. I've been looking at the JBA's. I came across Freedom Off-Road UCA's. They have a great price but I can't seem to find a whole lot about them. Any insights?

 

I've been researching for weeks on the top plate spacer. I have yet to find anyone that is running it to have a problem with it.

I've got 1/2" on driver and 1/4" on passenger to compensate for the lean. No probs.

I know nothing about freedom off road. JBA's are nice, but your rim will need to be 4.5 to 3.5" back space not to rub on the UCA depending on tire size. @headstrongoffroad offers a good discount on LR UCA's with purchase of a lift from them. Their prices are already good, check em out.

 

and OME nitro chargers. Not sure what problems people are referencing. I wouldn't do it with 5100's and 886's as the 5100's have more droop than Nitrochargers and you can destroy your CV's.

 

To clarify, I would NOT recommend running 886 coils with the top plate spacer on 5100's.

 

Hey, the stinkbug look is back in, along with the bro lean.

 

There is no more issue running the 886s on 5100s than there is on OME shocks. I know someone who runs 5100s/886s with spacers on top that wheels the hell out of his truck and has never had a problem. It can be done either way.

Regardless of the shock choice it is not an optimal suspension setup.
