Except that OME coils were never designed to work with 5100 shocks..

maybe not, but that doesn't mean it wont work. Most people I have talked to wish they went with Bilstein instead of going OME. I would argue that more people run 5100s with OME coils than OME shocks with OME coils. But this is not the point of this thread.

Ultimately, for the OP, spacers on top of lift coils (with the exception of the taco lean spacer) are not ideal and you should avoid doing it if possible.

The high spring rate of an 886 coil was not designed to work with a 5100 coil.

If you want to get technical, the issue isn't as much of the spring rate of the 886 as it is the valving of the 5100.

Correct (?) I am saying the issue, if you want 886 coils is to NOT use the 5100's but to use the OME shocks..
