Off-Road Tires

I've heard this but have yet to see any evidence.

Do you know if there's any difference in the potential sidewall problem in C vs E load rating?

 

Duratracs for the Win!

 

I'm not without bias, but my set of DuraTracs have been good to me so far.

I had those on my old truck. They were great on dry pavement and did decent on sand and mud. But got EXTREMELY slippery at the lightest bit of rain. I'm looking for new tires now and am leaning toward BFG or Michelin AT. Still reading around for a tire that is awesome on the interstate but also does well in the fine sand and sticky mud of central Texas.

 

After 6 months of checking prices/reviews/looks/shapes, I was between falken Wildpeaks and Mickey Thompson Baja boss ats.

Mickey Thompsons won

 

It kind of seems like those MT’s are the up and comer to start taking some market share.

but there is a more aggressive mt version

 

I just meant Mickey Thompsons, not referring to all terrain or
Mud. Lol

 

I ain’t gonna lie I went with inexpensive tires gladiator qr900 mt. They are by far the quietest tires I own and they have performed well for my conditions.

They’ve got one of the coolest looking sidewalls IMO.

 

Really interested in these. Let us know what you think of them after running them for a while. I like the big chunky blocks with lots of siping.

 

I'd suggest the 16" wheel size equivalent.

- It is off-road we are talking about after all...

 

No issues off-road running 17” here…
