Yeah I average about 18.9...not great for interstate driving.

I have (roughly) the same type of commute as you do, majority of interstate miles followed by some stop and go city miles (around 40-45 mph).

Anything in the 70-80 mph range will absolutely kill mpgs with this engine. But now post TSB and over 10k miles on the engine I'm starting to see 18 mpg for my avg fuel consumption now, previously it was always 17 ish.

Also I'd tell you to take a look at your Avg Trip MPG fuel consumption the moment you park and turn off your vehicle. It will flash for 3-4 seconds before it completely turns off. Highway trips aren't always as bad as the avg fuel mpg shows, I was beginning to think mine was horrible all the time, but after checking that screen after my daily commutes its reporting consistently around 19 mpg.

ETA: Stock TRD OR as well.

This truck likes to do 55 to 60mph...or rolling downhill. That's the only way I can get anywhere close to the advertised #'s. Interstate speeds in AZ are 75mph. Most drivers are doing over that speed.

OR and Sport are rated the same for the AT. There is surely some minor real world difference thanks to tires and chin spoiler, but your right foot will have much more of an impact than buying either based on MPG differences.

    19/24 = SR/SR5/OR/Sport 3.5L 4x2 AT
    18/23 = SR/SR5/OR/Sport/Pro 3.5L 4x4 AT
    17/20 = OR/Pro 4x4 MT
    17/21 = Sport 4x4 MT

    While I'm at it..

    19/21 = SR 2.7L 4x4 MT
    19/23 = SR/SR5 2.7L 4x2 AT
    19/22 = SR/SR5 2.7L 4x4 AT

Well known fact about these trucks at this point is that they hate the highway. Anything over 70 with any amount of wind or small hills will kill the mileage. Case in point: I70 in Kansas where the speed limit is 75 MPH, doing that for many, many miles here was my average when I stopped at a rest stop. Pretty bad. Going 55-60 with no wind it can easily get into the low 20's. Big difference and it's mostly because it can't stay in overdrive for anything and runs around 3,500 rpm in 4th half the time.

For comparisons sake my 2002 Camaro SS with a 5.7L LS1 V8 never has to shift out of overdrive even going up hill with 30 MPH winds. Love that thing but it's not my daily and I sure as heck wouldn't take it to Colorado. City MPG is worse but it'll do 20's on the highway/interstate no problem. Granted it also takes premium gas for whatever that's worth. Oh, it also has a power seat with height adjustment and even has struts for the hood. Something a 2016 Tacoma doesn't even have.

lol, I, too was on I-70 going from Lawrence to Topeka and back this weekend with the brutal crosswind. Kept it on cruise at 70 and Averaged about 19.5 mpg. I noticed a huge drop bumping to 75, and if I'd have dropped to 65 I'd probably have been over 20.
