I used to run my KM2's around 16-18 psi, just to avoid the risk of popping hte bead, however on my latest trip up in the snow, I was having issues, and the convoy stopped in 2+ feet of snow, needless to say I sunk a little and was stuck. The guys convinced me to air down to 12PSI and I couldn't believe the difference, night and day. I walked right out of the hole. In the video it seemed to me you both did just fine, but IMO your tires were just spinning more because you hadn't aired down enough, they were struggling for grip. It took me a little bit to break the fear of popping the bead but from now on I'm airing down to 12 or 10 unless I'm running stuff at speed.

As for your question about electronics, it really doesn't matter-theres only two mechanical systems, LSD's and Lockers. There is nothing that is 'better' than lockers. My arguement was just about electronic LSD vs mechanical, and its a huge difference.

Show me vids then man, I'm open to be proven otherwise. I did overlook the yellow wire mod but I still don't believe that an electronic limited slip will do the same job. Show me some vids of you walking over rocks and I'll believe it. Maybe I am wrong, just show me what I need to see. FWIW, I've seen something, and I need to be proven otherwise. A video is worth a thousand words right now.

I'm sure it makes a difference in snow. Sand as well. Flotation is important. I haven't seen it make any difference whatsoever in other conditions.

FWIW in sand/snow I air down to about 10. More for control than anything else.

What question? I didn't ask a thing, unless you count the rhetorical I was using to make a point.

To be clear: There is no question. But I'm pretty sure we're on the same page there.

I get a little testy (teste?) when these electronic v. mechanical discussions show up on here. Most of the time its people who haven't used both systems arguing the merits on paper. If it is someone who has used both systems, 9 times out of 10 they don't have enough mods to the truck to really challenge the systems and determine their limitations (I'm looking at you, David K).

In other words, it's a lot of "information exchange" by people without information.

It's a little different on TTORA or pirate...different crowds there. TW is, shall we say, "special" in that regard.

The only reason I believe what I do is because of the guy I went with last year who had the 08. He ran parts in low and in hi.... didn't make it over any of the obstacles. Obviously I'm not gonna hop in and ask to drive for him, but I tried to help.

As for the information exchange, I completely agree.

A few guys here locally are taking their sports up in the mountains to try some more challenging trails for a sport, I'm gonna see if I can get them to take plenty of videos.

If they want. I've been on the trail with several LSD-assed trucks in the past two years. They're primarily successful when hitting shit with a ton of momentum...and that pretty much speaks for itself...
