My sport has 17" rims and sits level with some full size pickups. I haven't done alot of off roading, but have had no problems. Get a sport with the tow package, then all your bases will be covered.

Personally I like the sport because of the hood scoop. I lifted my sport 3" with 33" tires and it looks pretty beefy. The sport doesn't have lockers, but that's not a big problem. I offroad and still do great without them

Stuff I Think Makes it Better
So, this may be a dumb question...

First off, new to the Taco experience. I own a 2013 Taco DCSB Sport. Love it, can't wait to mod it...but back to the dumb question.

Is it possible to add the e-lock and ATRAC to the sport? Or would that be one of those upgrades that is so costly you might want to just trade in for the OR?

Sorry if newb question, was just wondering is all

Yeah, that would be real expensive, ATRAC might be close to impossible. Better to just add air lockers.

I decided to go with the TRD Sport Tacoma this time, main reason being I like the look better, and my old Tacoma was an Offroad and I used the locker maybe 5 times lol 4wd did everything I needed to do.

If Toyota gave me a option of A locker in the LB. I would have got it. The SB just doesn't fit my needs. Do the yellow wire mod on the Sport and it will be even mo better. People always jump to the SB being better off-road. That all depends on what off-road is to you. Not everyone takes a $30k truck and beat the shit out of it crawling over rocks. So a better BOA is not always the factor or ONE locker. Maybe you do long travel on dirt roads over washboards. The added wheelbase is a plus. And I bet that most people's off-road is dirt roads. When I hit the dirt it is more of a expedition situation. Not looking to put dents in my truck or break my axles. But I would like to have F/R lockers. But that's not a option on any Tacoma. One day I will have ARBs and a on board compressor. But that will happen after 100k miles due to warranty issues. The first add on for me will be a new ARB for my Warn on my bench. Then if I get stuck I can get myself out. Even with my tripled locked FJ80 on some BFGs I couldn't get up some slimy red clay hills. That's when you pull cable.
