There are Base , SR5 , and Sport DCLB 4x4 Tacomas everywhere here , DCLB is probably the most common configuration

I bought a Sport but didn't get the factory heated leather option

I was comparing the differences between Sport and Off Road models.

Both come with upgraded suspension parts and audio system goodies. I haven't looked but I would think all the audio stuff offered would be the same in both.

That's because the Offroad in Canada is an AC and the Sport is a DC that's why the big price jump

In the US they can get a DC Offroad and the price difference between that and a DC Sport is minimal

Yes. Like I said, doing a comparison on a car buying site an OR and Sport, equipped the same, the OR is $350 MORE.

This is true, at least where I'm at. Basically there is no difference in price between a sport DC and an off road DC. Maybe $100-$200.

And what I am saying is that for the OR you get way more bang for your buck.
You get upgraded sound systems and upgraded shocks in both so I ignored that.

For the sport you get 3 painted parts. The grill/Bumper and the mirror.
Mirrors colour matched with signals cost 150$ish before shipping on ebay from my quick search. You can colour match the grill and bumper for probably under 100$ with plasti dip. You also get the skewp. I'm too lazy to go look in the hood trade thread but the way people reacted it won't be more than +300$ to get one from another member in a trade.

With the OR you get a real locker in the back and ATRAC upfront so your somewhat locked front and back. If you decide to lock your truck you need to drop about $2000 for an ARB locker in the front and back before shipping. You also need an air compressor and maybe installation. Then you get down hill assist on top of that.

I can see the appeal of the DCLB (especially in Canada if you can't get a DC OR) but imo you get a lot more value out of the OR package if you can live with the DCSB. From my napkin math you end up with 1400$ worth of stuff by paying that extra 300$.

Hey guys I have a question. I am buying a 06 Tacoma PreRunner DCSB TRD "sport". I say that because it has the TRD sport decals but has off road exterior (chrome bumpers, grill, black mirrors, door handles, no hood scoop.) Do you think it's possible it got the wrong decal put on at the factory? It's a one time owner, and there is no way the owner that has it now changed anything from stock.

The Off Road has a rear locker and the A-TRAC (that works all 4 tires). If you gotta have a front locker, you don't need to pay for a rear. The A-TRAC may not be 100% locked, but it is pretty close and saving $2000 may be worth trying it out before buying a front locker.

If it has a RR Dif Lock button, (and the locker on the rear diff) it is an Off Road.

Sport locked front and rear is way better than off road. Yes it will cost you more but you will have a much stronger rear end and actually be locked up front. No reason to compare arb front and rear to off road because there is no comparison.

When I went from my 2001 6 ft. bed Xtra Cab Tacoma to the 2005+ 5 ft. double cab bed, I experienced no problem carrying the same amount of cargo (work or camping) BECAUSE the Second Generation beds are both wider and deeper than the first generation beds. So, I lost a foot in length, but gained area in the other two dimensions.

A 6 ft. bed on an Off Road double cab would get hung up a lot if you really went off roading... my 5 ft. bed truck back end has been mashed coming down steep rocks, etc.
