I really didn't want to start a fight here. I will of course test drive first and I will make up my own mind, I was just looking to see what other people thought and if they knew of any differences that I haven't seen. As it has been pointed out the dealers and sales personnel know very little most of the time and I don't trust them.

    Work in progress...
The Sport looks better in blue while the Off Road looks better in tan. That is a fact!

I am perfectly happy with my Sport. I do 95% on road and it’s Tough to beat the sports car like handling. Did I mention I had a 6 speed manual and know how to use it, si I don’t need crawl control. You operate an automatic and drive a manual, but it boils down to personal preference. Both Sport and OR are great trucks.

I have the Sport. Also had a second gen Sport. Always appreciated the Sport more because of the hood scoop and body matched everything. Always figured I didn't care about the E-locker since I would just do ARB if I ever needed to. However with the 3rd gen in some ways I wish i would have got the OR because it is becoming obvious I need to regear and it would be better if I had the OR housing and E-locker on the rear end since it would save $$$ and be stronger. I can't remember if they had a different housing with the second gen ATs. Plus the black flares look cool with most colors, and lastly I like the wheels on the OR a lot more and they have a better offset.

I have OR with sunglasses holder. The trade off was no automatic transmission, well worth the trade off.

bobrown14, you noted the Bilstein 5100 shock, if I understood correctly, is 3” taller than the 4600 OR shock. It would seem that you’d lose shock travel because the longer shock would be pushing against the coil spring height. I may be wrong here. Did your Sport height change any? How about handling? I don’t mind the stiffness, because of the great handling, but it is a bit stiff for the wife.

I’ll be honest I bought a base SR5 and built it how I wanted. Put a 3” lift custom grill and rims and tires. Truck is smooth as shit on roads dirt or asphalt. I can live without the push start and the 4x4. Does everything I neEd it to do.

Thread rebirth! Was wondering how someone wouldn’t know it was a 4x4? Serious question.

You have a Switch on the Dash to put it in 4 Wheel Drive, long ago there were Manual Locking Hubs and a Manual Transfer Case Shifter.

Wow, its a good thing you just posted in these two entirely different threads. One is Sport vs Offroad, the other is Offroad vs Sport. Entirely different hahaha!

Right, was wondering how someone would buy a 4x2 thinking they got a 4x4 especially if they didn’t see a 4x4 button inside. Also, don’t the stickers on the 4x2 only say TRD off road where as on the 4x4 trucks it says 4x4 as well?

I have 1300miles on my sport and I'm already ordering softer suspension. Its waaay to jarring to drive around in... it drives me crazy... I swear that my 08 sport was way softer. Maybe I am just remembering wrong. But yah Im tossin the stock setup. Its parked until I do... I really wish I had gotten the OR instead tbh. Live n learn
