    Afternoon TW!

I thought I'd show off some of my handy work, using just off the shelf products purchased from the local parts store. Who says you need hundreds of dollars of detailing products? I used Meguiar's Wash and Wax, Meguiar's Clay Bar Kit, Meguiar's Polish, and finally Mother's Reflections Car Wax. Results below, took about an hour for just the tail gate. The last image was taken from a few inches from the paint to show the reflection.

Thanks guys, got the back half of the truck done, but the farther I go forward, the more work it takes. Think the front half will be a tomorrow kind of job.

Great job. I detailed mine for the first time a week ago, and man, all the various moldings, contours, etc, made it a pain!

Nice job op. What color is your truck? Can't tell in the pics. It looks like a mirror.

Thanks man! It's Black. 4 years of road grime and tree scratches and it ended up coming out pretty good :) Now if I could just detail the rock chips out of the front bumper i'd be good haha.

id like to see a direct sun shot, inside and angled pics reflect like no other.

Not discrediting your "work" and the product which is more than adequate. But if you're going to make such a hollow claim, dont post a picture of a shadowed angled reflection.

    Anything will make paint reflect.

just saying, before you make a claim that you dont need quality product. At least show a picture ACTUALLY showing the work. Not a side reflection of paint that could be full of swirls and beat to hell.

FB and IG is full of "detailers" like this

This is with a DA Polisher. I could not imagine trying to do this much coverage (the entire truck) by hand.

OP said off the shelf and named all the products, and they are quality products. And if the paint was full of swirls it would show.

    Butthurt much?

A side angle without direct light will not show swirls. They're "quality" off the shelf.

    Ignorant much?

looks fantastic! And its his dang truck. But I don't think he needs a pro job as long as he is proud of it and satisfied with the result. I would be plenty pleased with that result at home. Its an off road truck built for playing outdoors, not a show truck. I hope to achieve these results in my driveway.
