I was asked if I would sell my truck by a co-worker. My response was "yeah, $22k." He said OK, and then I said well I probably wont sell it, he replied "really think about it" because he wanted a 4x4 with a long bed.

What do I do? I just paid this thing off in February, its a 2006 with only 39k miles, I have basically everything I want in it. I really love it, but at the same time, I am in need of a SUV due to my 3rd kid...

    What do you guys think???

Also, my other car is a 2009 Prius.

22k would put a sweet down payment on a new SUV. Or, if you can afford it, split the 22k and get the SUV and a truck start over on the mods.

Sell the prius... and get an SUV. Getting a Truck that you love and then getting the feeling that you finally own it just to turn around and sell it... nah. you love your truck, show your truck you do and keep it.

You gotta know when to fold 'em. If you've got a buyer you're lucky.

Put $15k down on a new 4 Runner & save the rest to mod it. Or mod the Prius...

I really dont want to get rid of the prius, gas prices are retarded, and it is our get around vehicle. This is the exact dilemma I'm talking about, i bought the truck with 12 miles, and have suffered through the payments just to sell it. Truly a crossroads for me.

    Rain Visors,
I'd sell and try to find a 4runner for close to the same. Kids are important...unless you can get a cap and throw um back there?

    stock, for now
If someone offered me 22,000 for my truck id sell it..i also didnt buy it brand new either. You do need to think about the kids, they do get bigger so you may need to upgrade eventually.

Tell the guy the offer for the truck stands for $22, and for another $2000 he can get the wheels also and another $1000 he can keep all the mods. Then go buy a 4-runner.

In all seriousness, if you have to sell anyway to buy a SUV, and you have been seriously thinking about it, then sell, unless you think you can get more for it elsewhere. If the SUV is just a far-off dream and you like the paid-off truck, keep it for a while and enjoy not having the payments. In the mean time you can save those payments that are already in your budget to make a bigger down payment when you eventually buy the SUV in a year or two.
