Ive wanted my truck for a while, so since I've purchased it I've been putting stuff on or in it I wanted. I'm not looking to put crap in my vehicle but I'm also not looking to spend a fortune. One of the last mods I had in mind was a dual battery kit. I read up on off grid's kit and I decided to give @HeliMedic a call and ask a few questions. Over an hour later he was still explaining things to me. We emailed back and forth for awhile and he was always very courteous. I placed my order, and a few weeks later my kit arrived. I purchased the dual
Battery kit for the stock location, I also had him make me a cable for my pelfreybilt fuse tray. I added to the list of stuff a set of jumper cables with Anderson connectors. I also purchased a power panel as well. I can certainly tell you, when I opened the box I was floored. Everything looked professional and like it was built to take some abuse. The kit installation was simple, drill a few holes, bolt the tray down, and do your wiring, and it's done! Everything came cut perfectly and worked quite well! I can't say enough about the quality of matt's customer service and the quality of the kit he builds. IMG_7098.jpg IMG_7115.jpg IMG_7116.jpg

That is correct. It's the house sea power outlet.

Isolates your starting battery so you don't run it down when the motor is off. Camping, using you truck as a workshop, etc.

Thanks man! I really appreciate the good feedback. I put a lot of blood and sweat in my kits and I want everyone else to be as stoked about them as I am.

You did a great job installing yours, it looks awesome!

I have full systems ranging from 399 - 899. My complete systems come with the battery trays, custom cables cut to length, Blue Sea relays, and all the wiring, terminals, and extras needed for a complete installation. They are all designed to be as "bolt-in" as possible.

That is the Blue Sea Below Deck Panel. It has one "cigarette" style 12v outlet, two USB ports, and a built in on/off switch that doubles as a 15 amp circuit breaker. When purchased through me, it comes with a 20 foot, 10 AWG wiring harness with pre-terminated ends. Its very easy to install this way.

after doing my friends jeep yep.
once you include all the material and the fact this is coming ready to go with all ends terminated with a proper hydraulic crimp tool its a great kit for a reasonable price.

I'll definitely be installing this kit in mine.

I was lucky enough to be able to get most of the material from work, including borrowing a 10 ton crimp

Seeing some of the other dual battery systems out there, I really had zero issues with paying for this kit. I've spent MUCH more for some work before and I found connections wrapped in electrical tape. This kit was beyond my expectations honestly. I don't have all of the tooling, material and patience to do what @HeliMedic did. Every terminal, every wire is perfectly cut, crimped, and protected with high quality sheathing and shrink wrap. Don't get me wrong, DIY is great, for me I feel like it was a solid investment. Last place I want to be is in the middle of no where cursing my lack of wiring skills.

I don't know if I will ever go dual battery on mine, but if I do this will probably be it. Looks fantastic. Like that pelfrey fuse setup too

    Thanks @mauidogg

If you have a 2016 TRD-OR, you should check out my "split system". Its definitely the more popular setup. Both are awesome setups though.

Do you have systems to run 2 batteries without all the isolation and fuse equipment? Basicallly set up like a diesel truck

Id be happy to build you a custom kit to accomplish that... probably a lot cheaper than you'd think too.

So the split system is more popular, but is it better? Only benefit I can see is the weight would be more balanced, and have a little more working room on the drivers side. Am I missing something?
