I have an 017 TRD offroad with auto trans . and I have a stupid question, I can't afford to regear right now, but if I buy a locker for the front, when I can regear can I still use the locker or will I have to get a new locker for the new gears?

It depends on the gearing. The lockers are different fro lower and upper gears. I believe if you are a v6 stock it would not be the same locker if you re-geared.

3.73 and down is one RD121 locker.

3.91 and up is the other so does not look like you can lock it now then re-gear later without buying a new RD111 locker.

Someone can chime in here as not my area but based on what I have been reading up on and LRO site.

Need master install kits for front and rear. The locker. And the gears. You can also opt to get the solid pinion spacers which i highly recommend.

You'll also have to find a GOOD person to do the install for you. Would NOT recommend doing it yourself. I've done that..very hard, time consuming and takes a LOT of special tools. Find a shop that KNOWS toyota diffs. VERY important as toyota diffs are very very picky.

I find a driveline shop to do it? Ok4wd will only do it with their own parts, so that out of question and $900 per axle labour....damn

Prob just go with a mini kit and your good. My understanding under 10k master kits are not required. Some folks do it anyway just for peace of mind.

What is the install like on just the locker? I already have 4.56 installed by ecgs. Can I do the locker myself?

Not likely. You need to pull the entire carrier and then reset the backlash will the correct washer plates. Not easy and requires the right tools
