Official 16" Wheels will Clear 2016 Calipers Thread

Thanks bud, appreciate it. I think this info will benefit everyone who is looking to upgrade their wheels.

 

did you test them to see if they hit at full lock right/left?

 

Here are a few pictures when I picked it up last night. 16"x8" 4.75 back spacing Method wheels clear calipers, and with stock TRD suspension, have no issues with rubbing in full lock.

Better stance, and they look 1000x better than the stockers.

 

Oh I love wider stance I'm running 285/70r17s for that reason, 16'' wide though is more of a "brodozer" kind of look and besides aesthetics doesn't really do much for the truck off road. But it's your truck and my opinion, looks good.

 

They are 16" in diameter, not wide. And a larger sidewall is better for off-road, so the 16's are a better choice in that regard. Nice truck 777!

Exactly. I am waiting for everyone to sort out their suspension options and dial them in before I pull the trigger on a lift. Until then, I could not deal with those stock wheels.

Nope I specifically said it looked good, couldn't see the width and based on his post I figured he was saying 16'' wide wheels clear not diameter, as I've never seen a 16x8 not clear these trucks.

Exactly I was under the impression of a 16'' wide wheel combo which is not ideal and had me wondering.

No worries. The reason I started this thread was due to a lengthly conversation with Pro Comp over the 7032 16"x8" wheels. They said that there were several 2nd gen Tacos that they came across which did not clear calipers, and more specifically that the 7032 is designed to only run with a lift. So I passed on the 7032's and I hope that others who decide to go with 16" aftermarket wheels report their findings and use this thread as a resource.

 

Weird. I've only seen a few issues with aftermarket 16's and calipers, not to mention looks like the wheel wells and cab points on the 3rd gen are allowing guys to run some big tires without lift, saw a guy claim 285 with no rub which I still find hard to believe.
