That could explain some of the vibes at high speeds. I was thinking maybe driveshaft, but worth looking into. Now you got me wanting to do the job again.. but the right way this time.

What size tire do you think will require no trimming and will still look good

30x9.5 is already a small tire. Just trim

Hi I’m new here technically. I’ve been lurking for a couple years since I picked up my 99 5 lug.

What are the stabilizer bar brackets supposed to be torqued to? And if it’s easily accessible what do I torque the end link bolts to?

I found torque spec on another thread here for stabilizer bar “side,” and idk what that is. And then there is also a torque spec of 66lb for the end link but doesn’t specify wether it’s 4wd or 2wd. Any help would be appreciated. When I have a few more bucks I’m going to buy the repair manual.

I believe its 22ftlb on a 5lug. For some reason everything on a 5lug is tourqe very low.

Hi I'm a long time lurker first time poster. I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on the Doetsch front coil springs and upper control arms.
My question is for those of you that have purchased it, how is the ride quality and did you have any trouble getting the front end alignment correct?
My thought is upon initial installation the install the truck will have positive camber and the toe angle would be really jacked up.
I'm worried mostly about the SAI angle because I don't want to be replacing my ball joints every so often because of the added stress of the coil spring.

Also what shocks did you pair it with, I've been thinking about getting some eibach shocks for a 2nd gen 4runner and pressing the out the bar pins from my fabtech shocks onto those( my brother has a 4runner, when I measured along side the fabtech shock it was only about a 1"-1 1/2" difference.)
Or maybe even running some fox ifp shocks or Bilstein 5100s for a 2wd ford ranger since it would theoretically take up the room of the added 3" of the lift the coil spring would provide with similar travel.

I know Doestch makes shocks for the application but I kind of want to try something else with the coil springs/UAC combo.

*side note* for people looking at this the cost of the UAC's when I called about 2 weeks ago it is about $412 and the Coils are about $170, before shipping and sales tax.

Doestch offers shocks for it. They are a different length then stock.
As for ride comfort its good, and as long as you replace the alignment shims how they came out your alignment will be fine

I'm having a hard time finding wheels that will fit a stock 99 tacoma. I'm running on 14" steel wheels right not and would like to upgrade to 15s or 16s (steelies or not) with no lift/mods. Does anyone know which wheels/tires would fit without rubbing or having to do mods to the truck?

    https://www.detroitwheelandtire.com/hol-9072-sss-stl.html
Would these work with 225/75/r16 tires without rubbing/mods?

    Thanks!
    Hunter

Biggest tires you can do with no lift/level is basic stock to 1” over the stock diameterx9.5” wide

The wheels are 5x4.5 lug pattern, same as a Ford Ranger and Jeep Cherokee. Those are easy to find used on CL for cheap.

@Sperrunner @BikerinBlak909 I'm not necessarily worried about which wheel size, as it's 5x4.5" but I'm more or less concerned about the tire size. I found some Jeep Cherokee 16" rims with 225/75/r16 tires on them. Would you happen to know if they would fit without rubbing or needing any mods? Looking to throw them on the stock 99 taco 2wd. Thanks for your input!
