I'd say kokopelli is not an issue if you bypass rose garden at the end. Fun trip I'd like to do again sometime

Really not much challenge going down Rose Garden Hill as long as you have skids and sliders.

Yeah I've got front/rear bumpers, skids, and sliders so I think I'll be fine. I plan to start in Loma so that means going down Rose Garden Hill. The only thing that might stop me from doing the trail is if there is too much snow up high. I won't be doing this for another month and a half.

rolling solo, i'd suggest hitting top of the world, then head back to 128 and head up onion creek to meet back up with kokopelli and head into thompson canyon from there...

onion creek is an underrated trail...water crossings and cool terrain...plus you don't beat up your rig...

first time i ran rose garden, it was solo, but i had a spotter who was used to spotting me through hard stuff....plus being well built and armored helped ease my mind :D

i suggest to many who are short on time to cut down onion creek after hitting rose garden...then hop on 128 to head back into moab...

thompson>polar mesa is a nice change of pace though...reminds me of Colorado when you get up high again

I really appreciate your insight on this. Top of the world was definitely on the list, I've done that one before so I know what to expect there. If I head up onion creek from the 128 does that mean I'd be going up Rose Garden Hill? From what I've read that is quite the challenge. I'll have my wife as a spotter which is going to be less than desirable..

No, it's going around Rose Garden Hill.

I did Onion Creek and contributed past Rose Garden up towards Polar Mine solo a couple weeks ago. It was a good day.

correct. the route I described would bypass rose garden. you can then pick up just past where rose garden ends to continue on. next section is the Thompson canyon to polar Mesa.
