    How do you figure?

    #1 UGA
    ULM
    #1 Alabama
    #5 UGA
If you play the #1 that assumes you're the #4 seed
Which leaves you left to play either #2 or #3

    #1 UGA
    ULM
    #1 Alabama
#4 Auburn vs #1 (insert team)
#2 Auburn vs #1 (insert team)

They re-rank before the national championship game. I would imagine that the #2 vs #3 team would jump to #1

The schedule as it is is already brutal on these kids...I don't see that as beneficial

:hattip:Our system does not allow for a true college football championship. Every league, from pee-wee to NFL has a playoff (except college football). The new schedule will be less brutal than the present.

The 4 team playoff is the best thing that's ever happened. I agree, I don't see all the benefits a broader playoff would bring, but then again...it works in all other sports.

This system is imploding more each year, as the BCS did :anonymous:. The current poll has two undefeated teams ranked behind 1-loss teams o_O, and we're not even mentioning UCF.

Good luck to Clemson Tigers, they are the most complete team in the top ten. :woot:

I actually witnessed this at a Bdubs near Birmingham one year. They were doing some DJ thing that night, and he played the Auburn fight song, then the Alabama fight song.

Fight ensues, they mob up, get pushed out the front door, then BANG.

Everyone scattered. I stayed at the bar and ordered another scotch.

This is exactly why Alabama and Auburn both need to be good.

Its also why, when Alabama and Auburn are both good, it clearly explains why the SEC is the best, toughest conference.

    Negative.
SEC does have Alabama, which has been great the last few years. It’s also produced championships. But claiming best is a joke. SEC doesn’t have most champs of all time, so any logic down that road is flawed. I usually hear this from non-Alabama fans who want to ride the coat tail of their or LSU’s success years ago.

As a conference, there’s too much a difference between the top and bottom. Nobody outside the conference has played Vanderbilt or SC and sweated out a win and a tv head say “and that, ladies and gentlemen, is why they play”.

but vandy did beat K state and SC beat nc state this year soo (I'm not really arguing I still think the SEC is down this year but as a whole I think all of college football is down somehow)

[IMG] well bama is down (I have said that all year... look at our none offensive touch downs, and our defensive numbers as a whole compared to the last several years)

also I see that you could argue that the teams we are playing are up, but I think we both know that isn't true

    I think it's a combo

Everybody "Wants Bama". This means Bama gets the most of every team's attention and effort.

Also, Alabama ranks 130th out of 130 for penalties called on opposing teams. Refs are LITERALLY swallowing their whistles. Makes it even harder to maintain that level of success when you're playing 11 vs. 17. Not an excuse by any means (as I've provided stats). Saw another stat that MSU is up for top offensive line. Thats pretty impressive.

A buddy of mine added me to some insane facebook group for smack talk or some shit. Huge waste of time. People are entirely unrealistic....lol.

Auburn is up this year. Georgia is up this year. Is it legitimate? Is it lasting? Who knows, time will tell. All I know is, as long as Saban is in Tuscaloosa, Bama will be relevant.
