As of now....haha but there is still time for him to "Kiffin" us. I don't see him doing that since his and Saban's relationship is much better than Kiffin...but I reckon it'll all depend on what the nut job, aka Fulmer, wants to do. Fat Phil has already made it very clear he is going to be highly involved in all decision making at UT, so he may try to press and press Pruitt to come before. Again, I don't think that will happen since that was part of his agreement to stay throughout.

Point was you determining what was close and what was not. I don't really care in many ways, but just gets old when folks keep kicking a team that takes everyone's best game each and every week and if they do not perform how they "think" they should, now they are not a good team. I'm actually rather pleased in those games at College Station and Starkvegas... those are not the easiest places to play and those teams stepped up when Bama came to down. Since you're an expert, how many yards should they had and how many should they have held their competition to? I say they won and that's all I really care about. The Auburn game could have easily gone the other direction, so to me that was close as well.

I was happy to see MSU play so well in a lot of ways... I live here and it's great for the local teams to play well. But... everyone was gearing up for the big team coming to town.

I would expect a lot of games that a top team sees to be close games. That's why big losses are so bad. Auburn lost to LSU... that's a terrible loss.

Pruitt has said he's staying, and he's not a douche-canoe like Kiffin so I believe him. Kirby was named UGA's head coach in 2015 before Alabama's playoff run. He stayed and it worked out well... he won another NC ring with Alabama and doesn't seem to have been negatively affected by coaching through the post season.

    Also... Fat Phil Fulmer sucks.

Losing to LSU is a terrible loss? They went 9-3?

Edit: I mean it was, and if Auburn would have won that game we may still be in the playoffs, but to act like it was a terrible loss because they are a terrible team is false. It was a Terrible loss because it derailed our season. They had a HUGE hickup, but they still had a very successful season IMHO.

I remember hearing Smart talk about how Saban helped him transition by Saban Giving Smart an assistant(taking phone calls, messages, and such)to help Smart make that jump to UGA while still fulfilling his duties as DC at Alabama. A wise move by Saban and I've wonder if that's common practice in a scenario like this(that Bama keeps finding its self in). Did Kiffen have one, does Pruitt? I don't know.

I don't disagree somewhat, but losing to a team that lost to Troy would not rank high on my list. I do think any conference game is probably going to be tough no matter what conference you're in, so you usually see better play between conference teams.

Where I get heartburn is when someone kicks Bama from having an off week when they have to step up to the other team's best effort nearly every week. Auburn had a "hickup" as you put it and lost, but so did Bama against MSU, A&M, and Auburn and still won two of those. I did not follow Auburn much and credit them for holding on against Clemson. They are one of the best teams out there... just had to play some of the best teams this year due to their schedule.

I think the issue now is that the NCAA has started this "early recruitment" period or whatever they call it. Now, you almost have to get out and get the kids signed before the bowl season is over. I think that is one reason you see all the coaching changes early instead of getting through the bowls - new coaches need a chance to recruit.

I said that LSU had a huge hickup losing to troy, not Auburn.

The LSU game was not the players fault but solely on the coaches, but that was not a hickup, that is what Gus has always done and will probably still do in the future.

lol at the "Auburn loss to LSU is a terrible loss" but the "Alabama win over LSU is a great win".

NEWS FLASH: THOSE CAN'T BOTH BE TRUE.

LSU sucked this year, the SEC sucked this year, stop bickering about being one of the most inconsistent ridiculous conferences you guys.

Pulling for Clemson or OU to win it this year.

IMO, the SEC name had a bit to do with that. The SEC couldn't make up their mind who would win what like Georgia Auburn are 1-1, Alabama lost to Auburn but are ranked higher, Alabama beat LSU (who lost to MSU and Troy) who beat Auburn who beat Alabama. Like, who's the best? They don't know lol

Outside of those top 3 teams...SEC is a shell of its former self

Conference can suck and still put teams in the playoffs

OSU last year is a good example lol.

But even those "top 3 teams" haven't shown us anything great. So they had tough matches against each other, so what? The only team that has a credible (at this time) out of conference game is Auburn and they lost it to Clemson.

I hope, not only for my own desires, but for college football and to punch the committee in the face....that Alabama gets hammered by Clemson. It won't happen, but I hope it does.

I am not saying it is or isn't going to happen, but I am curious what all yall will have to say if Bama beats Clemson. Some of yall are so hell bent on Bama not being in there that I honestly believe yall will still say they don't belong. Often times people are blinded by their own hatred/butthurt that they just refuse to see anything differently.

I'm not saying they don't deserve to be there (see posts from the past where I said I think the committee got it right and me hating the methodology).

I was just commenting towards the Bama/Auburn fans arguing above about this and that and this and that.

If Bama wins, I'll still believe they got in there stupidly (rewarded for a loss by the methodology), but that they were able to win when it mattered.

The SEC was terrible this year, but I was trying to give credit to any home team at their own stadium. No matter how bad LSU is, going into Death Valley is never easy and I will almost always say a Bama win over their rival LSU is a good win. To me, LSU and Auburn nearly always bring their best game when they plan Bama. I just wish Bama had brought theirs to Jordan-Hare this year. I'm not sure if the LSU-Auburn game is as much of a rivalry, but I do my best not to miss Bama playing A&M (since Manziel beat them on crazy plays), LSU, and Auburn.

meh, sure home field advantage is a real thing, but Bama has beaten LSU 7 times in a row now? you can't really consider it a surprise anymore. LSU/Auburn trade wins more often in that rivalry and it always seems to come down to some kinda crazy play. LSU/Bama is the same story year in and year out it seems. Troy beat LSU at Death Valley, so really how impressive is it?

I just can't see claiming Bama beating LSU as great, and Auburn losing to LSU as bad.

BTW, just a quick thing I put together showing overall Power 5 conference wins/losses, +/-, and win %. I was curious myself but this is what I came up with.

I think the fact that Tennessee, Florida, Vandy and Arkansas are so bad it really brings the conference down, or makes it look worse than it is.
