Not with a stacked box. You have to throw the football and complete passes for first downs and touchdowns before the defense will back off.

I swear to God it's like playing cards with my dog in here.

Disagree, but who knows. From the folks I know in the program, Eason is the clear starter if healthy. That being said, Eason was walking right by me on the sideline this weekend, and from the way he was limping around on a crutch, he is not playing anytime soon, so we will get a good sample of Fromm.

Eason had 3 series in the opener. The team did respond under Fromm. But they had no choice. Fromm isn't the answer this year. Maybe in the future. Not this year.

    No.

Yes, because the passing game worked so well. To the tune of 94 yards total through about 3 1/2 quarters. The only time we moved the ball was when we kept it on the ground.

Mecole also dropped the best pass of the night, would have added about 70 yards to that total, haha... and changed the game.

Yep. But Fromm looked every bit a freshman that night. I have more faith in Eason to get this team where it needs to be than I do in Fromm. He's got the clutch gene, and he showed it last year.

Agreed, I think Eason is the starter, but I also don't think he will be back in two weeks, more like 6

Really? Show me improvement. Same footwork, same throws, etc. I guess we all know folks in the program. He doesn't display the leadership, either.

I also don't know why we don't try to get the ball to Nauta and Blazevich more. We're throwing jump balls to a 5'10 receiver instead of our big guys.

He does not have the clutch gene. Fromm is a freshman, but who showed more leadership and poise than long-ball eason.

He showed no improvement in the spring game, either.

He single-handedly won the Mizzou, pulled out the win against Tennessee before they had a prayer answered.

Weak sauce, sir. But I'll give that to you. He never really improved from day one to the end of the season and his second spring game. What has he been doing with the off time - it certainly wasn't bettering himself. Still same sloppy footwork, over/underthrows, etc. His touch on the short is shit and all he wants is the long ball. Heck, his parents has said as much that all he is concerned with is the NFL. Talented? Yes. But not at the level he was sold to be.

There was a coach who had a famous quote about eason that I'll try to find.

Big game for my Vols this weekend. Not really impressed with the SEC so far this season, should be a good game down in the Swamp
